Lenape M. S. Smoke Signals

March 9, 2015

The Lenape Players are excited to invite you to our performance of The Music Man, Jr. The story follows fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill as he cons the people of River City, Iowa into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys' band he vows to organize. The catch? He doesn't know a trombone from at treble clef. There are lots of catchy tunes and cute dance numbers for you to enjoy. The show runs from March 12-14. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students and can be purchased online by click here . We hope to see you there!

Note from Guidance

The Tribe Pride board across from the auditorium is a special place to recognize accomplishments of our students and anyone connected to Lenape. Do you know anyone who has accomplished a special achievement such as earning a black belt, receiving recognition in the newspaper, or earning a distinct award? If so, pick up a Tribe Pride nomination form in the guidance office or on the board across from the auditorium. Submit the completed form to the guidance office. Let's celebrate the wonderful achievements of the Lenape Community.

The Lenagazette

This is the first time in years we will have a newspaper for the students, about the students and by the students. When we first thought of this idea, our movitation was to give more students the opportunity to be involved and lead within our Lenape community. We are looking for students to join our newspaper staff. Our Lenagazette is located on our website under Our School - Lenagazette.

Volunteer Opportunity!

Lenape's Peer Tutor Program accepts volunteers all year long and is in need of new volunteers. Students who perform well (generally A average) in world language and math and have an interest in peer tutoring, should pick up an application in guidance. Opportunities to volunteer can be flexible depending on student's availability on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school. Any questions, please contact Mrs. Schmon in guidance.

Discussion Group starting soon...

Many students experience the stress and challenges of changes in their family situation due to separation and divorce. Guidance will run a weekly discussion group for approximately 10-12 weeks for interested students. The group will be facilitated by an outside counselor who is trained and successfully running other groups for us at Lenape. If you think your child may benefit from participation in this discussion group, please let his/her counselor know. We'll speak with your child about the details of the group and invite them to participate. Contact Mrs. Schmon for student's last names A-K (jschmon@cbsd.org) and Mrs. Kuntzmann for last names L-Z (akuntzma@cbsd.org)
