Congratulations Seniors and parents, we are winding down to the final quarter of school and looking forward to the celebration of Commencement! Here are some important upcoming dates.

Tuesday, April 2nd

Seniors will not have class this day, but will be asked to participate in an “On-Line” Learning Day. Teachers will provide lessons for Seniors electronically. This is a testing date at East High School (all Juniors will be taking the ACT Test, all Sophomores will be taking the MCA Reading Test, and all Freshmen will be taking the NWEA Math Test).

Wednesday, May 1st

We will have a Senior meeting at 2:15 pm in the Auditorium. At this time we will provide detailed information regarding the commencement ceremony. We will provide a hard copy handout and also share that document electronically. We ask that all seniors put this on their calendars and make plans to attend.

Wednesday May 15th

Commencement speaker auditions will be held in the auditorium after school. Students need to let Mrs. Robinson know by 3:10 p.m. on Friday, May 10 if they would like to try out. These auditions are not open to the public.

Wednesday May 22nd

Spring Awards Ceremony at 10:30 am in the East High School Gymnasium. This is open to the public as we hand out awards and award scholarships! Last year we awarded hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of scholarships and I am sure this year's seniors will challenge that mark.

Thursday, May 30

Caps and gowns will be handed out during Government and Economics courses. If you do not have either class, please stop into Ms. Robinson’s room before or after school to pick them up. Seniors were measured last fall for caps and gowns. The school pays for the rental of the cap and gown for seniors who participate in commencement. The caps and gowns are handed out one week prior to commencement to allow seniors the ability to take pictures as caps and gowns must be turned in immediately after commencement. Seniors may keep the tassel that comes with the cap and gown at no charge.

Senior Scholarships

This is the time of year many seniors are starting to receive information about financial awards from their colleges and other scholarship agencies. If your student has received scholarship awards, they should contact Ms. Kopischke in the Counseling Office with the amount of their awards, so it may be listed in the graduation program.
