Pine Hollow Middle School

May 27, 2020

Dear Parents,

The information below was shared in previous newsletters, but I want to make sure everyone is on the same page as we wind down the year. Please review it carefully if you haven't already done so.

Also, I know there are lots of questions about the fall, so in the coming weeks and months, I'll be in communication with you about the district plans, site protocols, and how we are preparing for all possible scenarios. We'll also be enlisting your support and feedback so that we can continue to improve as a school even in these unique and difficult times. Thank you and stay cool!

Principal, Pine Hollow Middle School

Textbook and Chromebook Returns: May 28th and 29th

Tomorrow and Friday we are collecting textbooks, library books, and Chromebooks at Pine Hollow. In order for this process to work, everyone must abide by the county guidelines, and come during their assigned time. This is organized alphabetically so families with multiple children can have just one drop off time. Click here to view your assigned time and review our procedures and safety reminders.

Student Awards: June 1st

This Monday, June 1st, we will be posting our award winners for 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. Each grade level and department will be recording special videos or announcing awards via Zoom meetings for the various categories, and award winners. We will also post a list of winners to our website and social media platforms, and mail home certificates.

8th Grade Promotion: June 3rd

Next Wednesday, June 3rd, we are hosting our 8th Grade Promotion event! This event is sponsored by the PTSA and will be a drive-through event where all 8th graders will sign up for a time slot to drive through campus with their family, be cheered on by staff, take a picture at our special photo backdrop, and receive a yard sign. Most 8th grade families have already signed up for a time slot, so please click here to view all the details and to sign up for your time slot if you haven't yet done so!

Assignments and Grades

As teachers prepare to submit final grades on the last day of the school year, it is imperative that students submit any work they have completed by this Friday evening. Teachers are using the weekend and early part of next week to finish up reviewing and grading work. Please contact your teachers if you have questions about specific assignments, grades, or how to submit work. Also, remember that all students will be receiving CREDIT or NO CREDIT for both Quarter 4 and Semester 2. These grade marks will be determined by the grades students earned during 3rd Quarter, and how they have engaged with the work this quarter.
