2020-2021 MEMBER ACTIVITY RECORD

Each 4-H Member has an activity record sheet to fill out throughout the year. This helps them keep track of things they attend and are involved in. Members can refer back to these sheets if they decide to apply for awards or scholarships (depending on their age). Their activity sheet is kept in their folder that the 4-H Leader keeps. if you would like your own copy to keep at home, you can download it here.

4-H PROJECT RECORD FORMS

View 4-H project record forms on the McLean County Extension Office website.

TALKS & DEMONSTRATION INFO

Each 4-H club member should sign up to give 1 talk or demonstration at a club meeting. This is a great opportunity to teach others about a project area you are learning about. Check out the Tips for Talks & Demos sheet to help plan your presentation or click on this link for additional resources.

YQCA & QAEC TRAINING FOR ANIMAL PROJECTS

4-H members exhibiting animals entering the food production system will be required to complete the Youth for the Quality Care of Animal certification (YQCA). It will replace former trainings: PQA and QAEC. This program is the industry-standard certification. The training must be completed each year and local Extension offices will offer the training. Horses, dogs, and cats will still be required to take the Quality Assurance and Ethics (QAEC) training. This training is only required once in the member’s career. Contact 4-H Staff at your local Extension office with questions and be on the lookout for our local training dates.

AWARDS & SCHOLARSHIPS

If you would like to apply for 4-H awards, the deadline is 11/1/20.

MCLEAN COUNTY 4-H FEDERATION

Federation is a great opportunity to increase the involvement of youth in county/unit programming efforts and developing camaraderie beyond the club level. Members as young as 8th grade can be involved in Federation. At this age, teens are expected to start taking on more leadership responsibilities, and involvement in a county/unit 4-H Federation can offer members the chance to explore planning and implementing events beyond the club level.

Meetings are held the 4th Monday of each month.
