Knightly Update April 3, 2022
ACP High School - Edition Vol 1 Issue 33
________________________________________
We've got a great week ahead of us. The ACP International Knight Festival is back!! This award-winning event is returning after a two-year hiatus and will be held this Friday at 5:00 PM in our school's courtyard. The International Knight Festival allows us to celebrate the many cultures at our school through conversation, food, music, dance, and other entertainment. Plan on joining your fellow ACP families as we celebrate all that makes ACP, ACP. You do not want to miss this event. I hope to see you there!
This week, our freshmen students will be taking the ACT Aspire on Wednesday or Thursday. As shared in last week's update, students will take the assessment on the block day that they attend their English class (e.g. if a student has their English class on Wednesday's block, they will take the exam Wednesday). Room assignments for the ACT Aspire are posted around campus and in the cafeteria. If students have any questions as to their room assignment for the exam, they can speak with their English instructor. Students must be on time as the exam will begin promptly at 7:25. All other grade levels must be in attendance and prepared to meet with their teachers as they do on any regular block day. If you have any questions about the AzSCI assessment or the ACT Aspire, please contact the office. Good luck to all our freshman on this exam. Relax and do your best!
Congratulations to all of the performers that participated in Friday's ACP's Got Talent, talent show. We have some amazing talent on our campus, and it was fun to see our students showcase their skills on stage. Great job to everyone that played a part with the production, and thank you to the students who shared their talents with all of us.
I enjoyed speaking with many of our students about their spring break adventures this first week back. It certainly sounds like they had fun and enjoyed the opportunity to get some rest. In speaking with the kids, it appears sleeping in seemed to be the favorite aspect of the break by many of our students. I have to admit, I enjoyed that too.
I hope you have a great week. Please do join us at Friday's International Knight Festival - you are certain to have a good time while learning about the many cultures at our school. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please contact me. Enjoy the week.
Rob Bickes
Principal

April College Fair
The Rocky Mountain Association for College Admission Counseling (RMACAC) is a non-profit professional association consisting of over 500 people from secondary and post-secondary institutions. RMACAC serves students in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming. This year RMACAC will be hosting a free college fair at Arizona State University Tempe campus, the fair is open to all students and their families! This is a great opportunity for students and their families to come out and interact with over 100 colleges and universities.
The fair will take place on Sunday, April 10, 2022, from 12:00p - 2:00p Arizona time at Arizona State University (Sun Devil Fitness Complex, 400 E. Apache Blvd., Tempe, AZ 85287). Parking will be available in the Apache Parking structure for students and families. While inside any ASU buildings, masks are required for all people, regardless of vaccination status.
Students must register in advance with StriveScan by completing a quick form. After they sign up, StriveScan will send a barcode via text message and email. At the college fair, they will need to present their barcode to college representatives to receive more information about that college. The next day, they will receive an email with a report of all of the colleges and representatives they met, along with the college’s contact information and social media profiles.

Please Make a Tax Credit Donation
If you are able to make your tax contributions early in the year, your donation would be greatly appreciated and give us a jump start on some of our essential extracurricular activities. We have set a goal to collect approximately $50.00 per family for a total of $57,500.00 and hope that you will be willing to help us meet our goal. Thank you for supporting your child and our school!
Tax Credit Basics…
A tax credit donation is a full refund, not a deduction. Contributions eligible for a tax credit are donated directly to schools, not to the state or school district. To participate or learn more, follow the link listed below to donate online or you can complete the enclosed form and submit your contribution at your convenience.
http://www.cusd80.com/taxcredit
Arizona Law ARS 43-1089.01 enables taxpayers a tax credit contribution of up to $400.00 per year if filing status is “Married, filing Joint Return;” $200.00 per calendar year if filing status is “Single of Head of Household;” and $200 per calendar year if filing status is “Married filing separate returns.” These contributions fund extracurricular activities in public schools and greatly impact our school community and our students.
