The Mustang Chronicle!
October 11, 2020
A Note from Principal Lewis
News is changing on a daily basis. Last week, we heard that CVUSD's waiver was accepted. We also heard that Ventura County moved to the Red Tier! As each piece of news came, it added more dimensions to the work at hand. Our CVUSD School Board, Superintendent, Cabinet, and Administrators have been working hard to plan for the reopening of schools in this Red Tier. CVUSD sent out communication yesterday explaining what our "mask" guidelines will be, upon reopening, as well as the steps we will follow if someone is ill at school. This is important for families to understand this, as you make decisions on what is best for your Maple students and families. We will be sending out information about what reopening will look like at Maple in the coming weeks. We are awaiting official word from our School Board and District Leaders on when the official first day of school will be for all students. Stay Tuned on this information.
We are looking to hire more Campus Safety Assistants, who can help us take temperature checks at our designated entrances, and supervise students in the AM and PM cohorts before, during, and after school. These shifts are part time shifts. Please consider if this is a paid opportunity you are interested in. We will also be looking for volunteers who would like to help supervise before school during each cohort, or after school, to make sure all students get dismissed safely.
Please reach out to me if you are interested in either opportunity.
We will need a village to ensure our students are safe, as we support the Health and Safety Guidelines before and after school.
Proud to be part of our Maple Mustang Family!

Interested in Square 1 Art!
Dear Family,
Welcome to Square 1 Art! We are excited to partner with your child's school to celebrate creativity and raise funds for the school! This year, we are celebrating 20 years of helping schools raise funds for education through the visual arts.
Wouldn't you love to share your child's artwork with family and friends? The Square 1 Art fundraiser provides you the opportunity to purchase keepsakes and gifts featuring your child's art! Every order profits your school.
Your 4 Simple Steps:
1. Your child creates art. Art Creation instructions and art/order deadlines will be provided by your Square 1 Art coordinator.
2. Take a photo of your child's art with your phone or tablet.
3. Upload the art online at square1art.com/shop/upload
4. You may then begin to shop for keepsakes!
Together, we can help support the school, and create keepsake memories of your child's art to enjoy for years!
