STEP #1: ELIGIBILITY (ACTION REQUIRED): Deadline: October 18, 2019--ALL STUDENTS MUST COMPLETE THIS STEP..EVEN IF YOU PLAN TO ATTEND OR WILL NOT ATTEND COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY.
THIS STEP IS CRITICAL AND IS THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP!! THIS STEP ALLOWS YOU TO RECEIVE YOUR DEGREE IN MAIL. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE YOUR GRAD APPLICATION ON FILE YOUR DEGREE WILL NOT BE CONFERRED AND YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE YOUR DEGREE ON TIME.
ALL Graduates are required to apply for graduation prior to their Commencement.
You can apply for graduation on SeaNet. THE DEADLINE IS OCTOBER 18, 2019.
Students who have applied for graduation and have completed all degree requirements during the fall semester are eligible to participate in the fall Commencement ceremonies.
IMPORTANT: Undergraduate Students who have 4 or fewer credits in spring 2020, can also participate in commencement by completing a walking form for approval. Click HERE to complete the walker form! Undergraduates with 5 or more credits in spring 2020 are not eligible to participate in the Fall 2019 commencement. *WALKER FORM DOES NOT APPLY TO GRADUATE STUDENTS*
If you need to review your degree audit for graduation, find steps HERE or make an advising appointment.

If you are not able to pick-up your regalia at Seahawk Salute, caps & gowns can be picked up from the Bookstore any time (during normal bookstore business hours) following Seahawk Salute until 2 days before the ceremony. You will also be able to pick-up your cap and gown in Hanover Gym one hour prior to the start of your ceremony if you are unable to go to the UNCW Bookstore. Your UNCW One Card will be required to pick up regalia. If you do not have a One Card, or need a replacement, contact the UNCW One Card office.
There is no cost for regalia Ffor main campus students. There is a cost for distance education/extension students.
*** Distance Education and Extension Students, review your regalia purchasing information.
Doctoral Students must contact the Bookstore to make arrangements for rental regalia. Email Craig Hewett at ctr-hewettc@uncw.edu.
STEP #3: COMMENCEMENT TICKETS
Tickets are free but ARE required for guests to attend the commencement ceremony.
Each student that has applied for graduation, will receive 5 tickets. If you are attending commencement, you will receive your 5 tickets (and your regalia) at Seahawk Salute or from the UNCW Bookstore (during normal business hours) after Seahawk Salute has passed.
Undergraduates and graduates attend the ceremony during which their school/college is represented. Students who will graduate with a double major within different schools may choose which ceremony to attend. Please note, the graduation date in SeaNet reflects UNCW’s official degree award date, which may be different from your actual commencement ceremony date.
In order to receive your 5 tickets, you must have applied for graduation!!!
To apply for graduation, please see Step #1: Eligibility.
Please Note: The College does not manage ticket distribution, they are issued to students directly as they pick up regalia. We also do not have any additional tickets to issue to students. The December ceremony is a shared commencement between the College of Education, the Cameron School of Business and the College of Health and Human Services, so the ticket allotment is to ensure all students can have guests with them to celebrate. However, we have found that asking fellow seniors if they will use all their tickets and to see if they will gift you the extras they may have was very helpful in past ceremonies that required tickets. We strongly recommend you ask your peers!
If Transition Programs has any additional tickets, they will issue them at will call at Trask Coliseum an hour before the ceremony, one at a time. Additionally, the Commencement ceremony will be live-streamed on the main university page, www.uncw.edu.
