Queen of Apostles School
Term 4 Week 1 - Thursday 13 October 2022

Welcome Back
Welcome back to Term Four.
All going to plan this term promises to be a fun and rewarding one. Our staff have worked hard over the holidays to ensure all was in readiness for the return to school on Monday. It was great to see the students at school with smiles on their faces and ready to go.
Please take note of the calendar to make sure you don’t miss anything.
Market Day
The kids for kids Market Day will be held tomorrow. Each class is contributing to the Market Day and there will be some fun activities for our students to take part in. Some of the activities include Face Painting, Quoits, Popstick Game and the Lucky Number Bottle Stall. Most items and activities will be priced between 50 cents and $3.
Children from PP to Year 2 are invited to visit the hall and play games and make purchases at recess. Students in Years 3 to 6 can join the fun at lunch time, after the second bell.
Kindy students have been invited to visit the stalls from 10.00am.
kids for kids is all about empowering students, showing them that individually and collectively they can make a difference to the world. All of the money we raise will be sent to our friends at the Flame of Love Orphanage in the Congo.
I thank Mrs Maloney and the Social Justice Committee for their work in preparing for this very special fundraising effort.
Open Night
Open night is taking place next Wednesday 19th October from 5.30 until 7.30pm.
Kindy through to Year Six classrooms will be open for families to explore the variety of learning that takes place. The Library will also be open with our Book Fair taking place and there will be an exhibition of the students' art work they have completed with Mrs Perry.
Unfortunately, this year there will be no sausage sizzle available on the night.
We look forward to welcoming all of our families to Open Night and invite you to bring along anyone who is interested in seeing our wonderful school.
Grandparent’s Mass
Next Thursday 20th October we warmly invite our grandparents to a special morning of appreciation starting with Mass at 9.00am.
The timetable for the morning is:
9.00am - Mass in celebration of grandparents
9.45am - Special activities in the classrooms
10.15am - Tea or coffee and biscuits in the Library/Undercover Area/Grassed Area
Grandparent's are welcome to bring a picnic morning tea to share with their grandchild on the grassed area.
Can families please fill out the try booking below so we know how many of our special grandparents are attending.
Interschool Athletics
Our interschool athletics team will compete next Friday at Len Shearer Reserve in the regional carnival. I wish them the best of luck and hope they have a fantastic day.
I would like to thank Mr Bridgeman for giving up his time to train and prepare these students. Parents and friends are most welcome to come and support our team.
COVID Portal
It is still vitally important that parents and caregivers inform the school if their child tests positive for COVID-19.
Parents and caregivers can inform the school of their child’s positive or negative COVID result via this LINK - https://cewa-collections.powerappsportals.com/COVID-19-Self-Reporting-Form/
The information will go directly to me.
If a positive result is recorded via a RAT test it must also be registered on the WA Health RAT register website -
https://datalibrary-rc.health.wa.gov.au/surveys/index.php?s=WDLLNTW4RDX8AWPH
Please do not underestimate the importance of informing us of a positive COVID case. Your actions will ensure the risk to others is minimised and that we do our very best to limit the spread of the virus across our community.
Best Wishes
Mark Ryan

Kindy Enrolments
Due to some movement in our 2023 Kindy enrolments, we now have a limited number of places that have become available.
If you know of anyone looking for a Kindy position please tell them about our wonderful school and urge them to submit an application. They will need to be quick as this class was originally filled very early in the year and these positions have only just become available.
2024
We would also encourage anyone with a child eligible for Kindy in 2024 to submit an application as soon as possible as this class is more than half full already! Siblings are usually given first priority for future enrolments, but if we don't have your application we don't know who needs to be enrolled. Get your applications in now to avoid disappointment.
