DONATE TO SUPPORT VISUAL ARTS
https://schoolpay.com/link/2023VisualArtsDonation
Did you know high school students are required to take two Visual Art credits to graduate but there is no additional budget that is provided from the district for art supplies. With fees not being a requirement for high schools anymore, we need to fund our supplies through donations from our families and the community.
WSHS offers the following Visual Arts programs:
- AP 2-D Design
- Beginning and Advanced Drawing and Painting
- Beginning and Advanced Ceramics
Any amount will help with purchasing consumable art materials such as canvas, acrylic and watercolor paint, graphite pencils, drawing paper, clay, glazes and replacing our 20 plus year old pottery wheels and kilns.
For more information about our programs feel free to reach out to the WSHS Art Department teachers:
Michelle Sloan, drawing and painting
Mary Howard Logel, ceramics

HOMECOMING TALKING TIPS
Here are a few tips to help you talk with your teens about making healthy choices. Remember, going to a dance is new terrain for our students. There hasn't been a dance since our seniors were freshmen! They need your guidance.
- Ask who, what, where, and when - know the evening plan.
- Set clear, specific, and consistent expectations - what you want and why.
- Follow PRIUS for tough conversations. P - start with a positive. R - recognize effort. I - "I am concerned". U - offer understanding. S - share responsibility (make a plan working together).

We look forward to seeing you in-person! You do not need to be a member to come to the meeting.Become a member of the PTSA at: http://wshsptsa.org/
If you want to lend your voice to supporting all students at WSHS, please consider joining the PTSA. PTSA members have a direct impact on PTSA planning, action and advocacy. You’ll be added to our membership database so you can receive updates about upcoming PTSA sponsored events such as parent education and fun community building events, plus you’ll have access to exclusive member discounts. In line with our commitment to equity, we are offering membership scholarships this year for those unable to afford membership fees.
ACADEMIC SUPPORT FUNDING
Donations to the PTSA are always welcome, and always go directly to supporting our community of parents, staff, and students. This year, however, we have a special ask. The school is asking the PTSA for the funds to support Saturday School and afterschool tutoring due to an expired levy. We are hoping to raise the funds necessary to fill the gap. If you are able, please consider making a donation toward student academic support. http://wshsptsa.org/you-can-help/donations
Thank you to those that have donated!
