Or is it
"Violence can be used for good"
Sonnett
This diversity
It started so small
Now it just makes no sense to me
It's like a snow ball rolling downhill it's grown so tall
We all separate
Not based on friends
We used to not care where we ate
Its based on our skin we need to make amends
Look through the room you can see it
You can find the Asians, Whites, Blacks, and the Middle Easterns
This has gone too far and no just a bit
Now this, it just burns
When we go back to segregation and don't realize
Look at these people you can see it in their eyes
The world we live in
The world we live in today has many dystopian aspects to it. For starters the government today in terms of the president is not in our control. They tell us that we are voting for the president when election comes around, we all run off to voting stands to vote for who we feel that we should have in office when in reality we only vote for people who vote for who goes into office. Then you can look out of America, and look over in countries like Russia, who are in communism, and have civil wars being fought throughout the entire country (Leon) . But back to America for a minute, in this country we have 15% of US in poverty that is 46.5 million people just in this country (Maxwell) , and one in every 45 children become homeless each year, that is 1.6 million children each year who become homeless. We can relate our society in America a lot to the novel 1984 in many way also. Whereas we have Upper Middle and Lower class they have Inner party, Outer Party, and the Proles. Also, in America we are not people to the government, we are just numbers and money to them, all they look at in a person is, do they pay their taxes, who do they vote for, not how do they live, do they live in bad parts of town, are the food stamps they receive actually enough to have a decent living. We live in this imperfect society that the us government wants to hide from us because it makes them look bad, so they hide every thing bad from us, but once they actually do something good, they will ride on that as long as they can saying, Medicare has helped so many people who are elderly and can not pay for insurance, while leaving out the people like my grandmother whom has been denied every job she has applied for for ten years because she is to old and nothing but a liability. These are the people that the government doesn't want us to know about because these are the people that make them look bad, but these are the real people that need it, not the people receiving food stamps, but have enough to binge eat buy brand new game and game systems and throw two to three parties a month and pay for every one to eat sirloins. While others are living with just enough to feed three people and barely pay utilities. Then there are the multiple in named wars in the world and the genocides that our government thinks that we don't need to know about. Also us living with a communist country not far away aiming nukes at Hawaii and firing, then when they miss by only a few miles they say "oh sorry that was a misfire". These are issues that make our world so terrible, and make the us not this almost utopian society that our government likes to show off to other countries, because we are just as much of a distopia as they are.
Winston's Not Afraid
Not Afraid lyrics
[Chorus:]
I'm not afraid (I'm not afraid)
To take a stand (to take a stand)
Everybody (everybody)
Come take my hand (come take my hand)
We'll walk this road together, through the storm
Whatever weather, cold or warm
Just letting you know that you're not alone
Follow if you feel like you've been down the same road (same road)
[Intro (during Chorus):]
Yeah, it's been a ride
I guess I had to, go to that place, to get to this one
Now some of you, might still be in that place
If you're trying to get out, just follow me
I'll get you there
You can try and read my lyrics off of this paper before I lay 'em
But you won't take the sting out these words before I say 'em
Cause ain't no way I'ma let you stop me from causing mayhem
When I say I'ma do something I do it,
I don't give a **** what you think,
I'm doing this for me, so fuck the world
Feed it beans, it's gassed up, if it thinks it's stopping me
I'ma be what I set out to be, without a doubt undoubtedly
And all those who look down on me I'm tearing down your balcony
No ifs, ands or buts, don't try to ask him why or how can he
From "Infinite" down to the last "Relapse" album
He's still ********, whether he's on salary paid hourly
Until he bows out or he shits his bowels out of him
Whichever comes first, for better or worse
He's married to the game, like a **** you for Christmas
His gift is a curse, forget the Earth, he's got the urge
To pull his dick from the dirt, and fuck the whole universe
[Chorus]
Okay quit playing with the scissors and ****, and cut the crap
I shouldn't have to rhyme these words in the rhythm for you to know it's a rap
You said you was king, you lied through your teeth, for that
Fuck your feelings, instead of getting crowned you're getting capped
And to the fans, I'll never let you down again, I'm back
I promise to never go back on that promise, in fact
Let's be honest, that last "Relapse" CD was ehhh
Perhaps I ran them accents into the ground
Relax, I ain't going back to that now
All I'm trying to say is get back, click-clack, blow
Cause I ain't playing around
It's a game called circle and I don't know how, I'm way too up to back down
But I think I'm still trying to figure this **** out
Thought I had it mapped out but I guess I didn't, this fucking black cloud
Still follows me around but it's time to exorcise these demons
These ************* are doing jumping jacks now!
[Chorus]
And I just can't keep living this way
So starting today, I'm breaking out of this cage
I'm standing up, I'ma face my demons
I'm manning up, I'ma hold my ground
I've had enough, now I'm so fed up
Time to put my life back together right now! (now)
It was my decision to get clean, I did it for me
Admittedly, I probably did it subliminally
For you, so I could come back a brand new me you helped see me through
And don't even realize what you did, believe me you
I been through the ringer, but they could do little to the middle finger
I think I got a tear in my eye, I feel like the king of
My world, haters can make like bees with no stingers
And drop dead, no more beef flingers
No more drama from now on, I promise
To focus only on handling my responsibilities as a father
So I solemnly swear to always treat this roof, like my daughters
And raise it, you couldn't lift a single shingle on it!
Cause the way I feel, I'm strong enough to go to the club
Or the corner pub, and lift the whole liquor counter up
Cause I'm raising the bar
I'd shoot for the moon but I'm too busy gazing at stars
I feel amazing and I'm...
[Chorus]
