Board Update
January 18, 2019
Interesting Weather!
I just wanted to send you all some information concerning the happenings of this week and also share with you upcoming events that you may want to check out if your schedule permits. My hope is to send a short newsletter to you each Friday just like this one that outlines the big items that I feel you should be aware of. If there are topics of which you would like for me to keep you updated on in the future please shoot me an email and I will be sure to add them as well.
We had many highlights this week but the biggest is the achievement we are seeing in the elementary with our new math curriculum. I am going to invite Mr. Winkle to the February board meeting to share some data with all of you, what I am seeing is very promising. We have all made this a point of emphasis for this district and the data we have right now looks like we are making the correct initial changes at the elementary.

Delays & Cancellation
If I ever have a doubt concerning the safety of our students I will always air on the side of safety. This is my biggest responsibility as your superintendent and one that I take very seriously.

Long story short..... NOT GOOD AT ALL!
JH Science Plot Twist
If it works we would much rather her stay than hire the long term sub applicant that we have on the hook. I will keep you posted.
Funding and Competition Update
Funding Update:
In December Becky, Syndey Ralston, and I met with the REDC about funding for our school based enterprises. We were asking for $44,000 and we have been informed that they will be giving us 2/3 of this amount ($31,321) in February. The REDC and county commisioners felt that the school could chip in the additional money for the programs, of which I agree.
Here is the email form Greg Beumer sent to us on Wednesday evening:
Congratulations! The board approved funding 2/3 of your request tonight. The actual funding amount approved is $31,321, or .667% of your request. I have no doubt this will go to good use.
Thanks for all you are doing to help our students in Randolph County.
