The 2018 D.U. Lead Club Advisors

Meet the Advisors & Coordinators bringing D.U. Lead to you!

What is D.U. Lead?

D.U. Lead is an intensive weekend institute for emerging leaders in the Denison community. Limited to a select number of first-year students, the D.U. Lead institute aims to address and develop a variety of leadership skills.

D.U. Lead is about leading with integrity and “Making Your Mark” within the Denison Community to create and sustain positive change. D.U. Lead participants participate in fun, interactive activities and simulations in a lively, upbeat environment. The social change model of leadership development is the theoretical basis for this Institute. Participants work closely with 8-10 peers in small groups called “clubs.” Participants will be mentored by junior/senior students who serve as club facilitators.

Hey everyone! My name is Jack Agrasuta and I am one of the D. U Lead Club Advisors this year. I was born in Bangkok, Thailand, but I also live in Boston. I am a rising senior majoring in Biology (pre-med) track. I am/was president of the Asian Culture Club and Asian American Association, break leader of Habitat for Humanity, a volunteer for Big Brothers Big Sisters, DCGA community senator my first year, and I play club and intramural volleyball. Besides activities, I also work for the first year office and admissions office as a senior interviewer, tour guide, peer advisor, peer mentor, and a June Orientation staff in 2017. I really think peer to peer mentorship is important and I am excited to see what ideas you all have. Moreover, I think that D.U lead is an amazing experience because this trip may inspire you, make you cry, and motivate you in the most meaningful ways possible. I can't wait to meet you all haha!

I attended DU Lead as a first-year, and I am so excited to be returning with all of you! DU Lead combines fun activities with meaningful conversations in a way that ultimately will leave you with many new relationships within and outside of the first-year class and also with a sense of what you might want to do to on campus in the future. It’s truly a wonderful weekend!

On campus, I am involved with working for admissions, I am a leadership fellow, and I am a member of Greek Life. I am excited to be on the team, because I didn't have the chance to attend D.U. Lead my freshman year, and I believe it is a wonderful and empowering steppingstone for first-years! Luckily I was also a D.U. Lead Advisor last year, so I'm pumped to get to know a new set of faces and getting to know you! I can definitely say that you're in for a great weekend in really getting to know yourself better and getting advice. It'll be a time to reflect a lot about what you want to get out of your college experience! I'll see you then!

Tyler Duffrin

Hey guys. I’m Tyler Duffrin. I study Psychology and I’m a rising Junior who transferred to Denison from a community college in my hometown, Jackson, Michigan. I’ve been at Denison for a year, and I feel like the most mature, focused, personable, friendly version of myself I’ve ever been. I do psychology research with two professors, am a part of Greek Life, and a Community Advisor. As a transfer student, I like to think I understand how important the people who introduce you to Denison can actually be. To that end, I want to help you along your way. I want to give you advice that will set you on the right social track for the next four years you’re going to spend at Denison. They’re going to be the most fun years of your life. Live them to the fullest.

Allen Primack

Hey Fellow Denisonians! I’m Allen Primack, and I’ll be serving as one of the co-coordinators for D.U. Lead this September! I’m a sophomore global commerce and data analytics double major from Milwaukee, Wisconsin aspiring to become an equitable entrepreneur. On campus, I love being highly involved, mainly in DCGA (student government), the Leadership Fellows, Hillel, and Club Ultimate Frisbee. I was a participant at D.U. Lead last year, and it taught me a great deal about getting involved and making a positive difference on campus. Being surrounded by some of the best and brightest students, with upperclassman who have “been there”, and “done that” serving as mentors, truly makes for an impactful weekend that's very fulfilling. I couldn't envision a better way to spend one of your first weekends as a Denisonian! You'll get to meet and interact with so many amazing people over the course of the weekend, and you may be surprised with how many new friends you’ll have after the program! One of my favorite parts about D.U. Lead is the self-reflection aspect of the program, with the mark mantras that are created establishing goals and approaches to leadership that can be capitalized on throughout one’s Denison journey. I couldn’t be more excited for D.U. Lead and you should really consider applying- you wouldn't regret it!
