TARDY SWEEPS - Every Day @ ARSA
Maximizing Every Instructional Minute!
- Please continue to remind students that on time arrival is key. They are to walk with purpose, no running.
- Do Now's are to ready for students every period - focused on either reviewing data from low DOL Data or preparing students for the content of the day.
- Release students on time: A.K.A. - Do Not hold students - this is NOT a discipline measure. The only time students can be held briefly is when you are walking them to lunch.
- Actively monitor by your door and surrounding area.
- Do Not close doors before the bell rings. I am repeating that Do Not close doors before the bell rings.
- I do not want to see this on any floor in the building. The bell rings, then doors are closed.
TEAM ARSA please get enough rest, fill your "bucket" with positivity around you, be here every day, work together as a team and also remember to respect how important your individual contributions are to making ARSA EXCELLENT!

Spotlight on ARSA Staff
A very special thank you to Mrs. Crabtree our ARSA Test Coordinator during this first round of STAAR. As I shared earlier we had monitors and auditors here this past week during STAAR testing and we did a phenomenal job!! Much appreciation to Mrs. Crabtree's commitment to testing and all that entails. She has provided us with clear expectations (various times and ways), her door is always open to support all staff members be the best during any testing endeavor, and she strives for the very best for all of our scholars. She always provides guidance with a sprinkle of levity and high standards all rolled into one message.
Testing a campus this large and to consistently have practically no errors is a tremendous accomplishment - your hard work and commitment to excellence is a value to ARSA.
Now, nothing can get accomplished by a single person. The ENTIRE campus staff stepped up and supported an optimal testing environment. If there was something that needed to be adjusted (in the already smooth functioning process) the campus reaction time was immediate. Testing week is tiring and everyone did a tremendous job and our students benefited from your diligence and commitment to their success.
Team work makes the DREAM WORK and we could not accomplish anything without each of us working together. So, I say a heartfelt thank you to each and everyone one of our Ranger staff for always remembering and acting on that!
Spotlight on Ms. Tovar, Mrs. Zapata, and Ms. Cardenas
Thank you so much to Ms. Cardenas, Ms. Tovar, and Ms. Zapata (and anyone I may have missed behind the scenes) for the breakfast tacos during STAAR/mock testing! It was so nice to be able to start the day with a hot, tasty breakfast. I appreciate the time and effort they put in on such important and exhausting days.
Spotlight on Ms. Tovar, Mrs. Zapata, and Ms. Cardenas
I would like to spotlight Ms. Cardenas, Ms. Zapata, and Ms. Tovar for cooking breakfast on Tues. and Wed. It was much appreciated and delicious!
Spotlight on Ms. Tovar
I want to say a huge thank you to Ms. Tovar for putting together breakfast for the staff during STAAR days! Thank you for going out of your way to make sure all teachers have a great start during testing days. Thank you to the office staff that assisted as well! Y'all rock!
Spotlight on Ms. Baker
Thank you for your leadership and commitment to highlighting Autism Awareness Month. Your energy and empowerment of ARSA scholars and staff is a tremendous value! Thank you again for all you do!
Spotlight on Ms. Macon
Every day this week Ms. Macon has assisted with 6th grade dismissal. She has manned the stairs and ensured that students walk in an orderly and safe fashion. She stays until the entire grade level has passed. Thank you for your commitment to excellence!
Spotlight on Mr. Jose Zarazura
I want to shout out our custodian Jose! Every morning he greets teachers with a smile. He is eager to help out and solve any situation quickly and efficiently! I am so glad to have you as part of our team at ARSA! Thanks for all you do!
Spotlight on Ms. Jones
At this time, we (ARSA Counselors) would like to thank Ms. Jones for her willingness to learn and help us with our final Spring 504 meetings. Ms. Jones asked questions and provided good information to help assist us with the 504 meetings and she was very receptive to understanding the 504 process and how it benefits our students. Way to go Ms. Jones....YOU ROCK!
