October is the month to acknowledge and learn about bullying prevention as well as celebrate showing kindness, compassion, and respect to others. This year the Roxbury School District will acknowledge this important month with a district-wide theme of “Strength lies in differences, not similarities.” The students in the district will be given the opportunity to participate in weekly October activities. October 4-8th is designated as the “Week of Respect.” We will be participating in a School-Wide Spirit Week. October 11th - 15th students will participate in anti-bullying lessons and sign the pledge against bullying. We will also be collecting nonperishables to donate to Roxbury Social Services. October 18-22nd we will be having a grade-wide anti-bullying and school success assembly. Lastly, October 25-29th we will be participating in a school-wide chalk walk to help spread kindness, compassion, and respect.
