VOTE ON APRIL 6
Our School, Our Community, Our Future
The Clever R-V School District is proposing a no tax increase bond issue on the April 6, 2021 election ballot. This is the fourth in our series of newsletters designed to give information on what this bond covers. The bond issue contains three main elements--HVAC improvements, an activities field house, and safety/security upgrades. This newsletter will discuss proposed safety and security upgrades. Our goal is to continue to provide information allowing everyone to make an informed decision when they go to the polls on April 6.
Safety updates are needed at both the elementary and middle school entrances. Currently, once someone is allowed in the front door of the building, they have unlimited access to the school. The proposed updates would address that security flaw by renovating both entrances. As shown in the plans below, visitors to the building would be buzzed in through a secure access front entrance and would then have to enter the building office. A second set of doors between the vestibule and the hallway would remain locked preventing visitors from accessing the school building without first checking in at the building office.
In addition to these renovations, camera systems will be upgraded and intercoms will be improved. All of these steps are needed help to shore up our safety and security systems.
