GEOGRAPHY
The Plaza de España is a square located in the Parque de María Luisa (Maria Luisa Park), in Seville. It has a fountain in the middle and a kind of palace around it. In the 'palace' there are stairs, where if you go up it, you will have a beautiful and amazing views. The palace and the middle of the square are separated by bridges. You can sail in the river.
HISTORY
The Plaza de España was built in 1928 for the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929. Their bridges representing the four ancient kingdoms of Spain. It fountain is called the Vicente Traver Fountain. By the walls of the Plaza are many tiled alcoves, each representing a different province of Spain. The Plaza de España has been used as a filming location. In this square were filmed scenes for the 1962 film Lawrence of Arabia, Star Wars in 2002 and The Dictator in 2012.
