Weekly Update
January 25-29, 2021
Remote Learning Expectations
Students need to participate in the zoom call in order to be considered present in class.
They can show they are engaged by:
- Unmuting and answering teacher questions
- Typing their answer in the chat; Asking a question in the chat
- Completing work and assignments in the google classroom
- Participating in an activity such as Pear Deck, Kahoot, Jamboard, or other online tools
Please know that it is an expectation that students demonstrate engagement throughout the entire class period. They need to be available to answer when a teacher asks them a question or be actively working on an assignment.
Teachers can monitor the student's usage of their school-issued Chromebook while in class remotely from home. Teachers are able to see when students are working on documents, navigating to the correct websites, and participating in online platforms.
Students learn best when they are in a location free of distractions.

9:00-10:00 - Office Hours (Open to ALL students)
10:00-2:45 - Asynchronous Work Time

Academic Assistance Hour - Students that are at risk due to poor performance this fall are required to attend this small group intervention time. Parents were notified via US mail if their child was selected by their team of teachers for this block. During this time, students will be provided with additional instruction and support to improve their status.
Office Hours - Students that have questions or need extra help in a certain class should plan to attend their teacher's office hour. Teachers may request that a student attend to retake or make up an assessment, complete an enrichment activity, or check-in with the teacher for social-emotional support.
Asynchronous Work - Students work independently at their own pace. Information and assignments are provided on google classroom and do not require interaction with the teacher. Work could be part of a long-term project, a research report, or reading text in preparation for the next day.
