Principal's Message

Dear Chehalem Families,

We made it!!!!

Camp achieve families would have received notification this week if they were accepted for attendance and had to confirm their commitment to attend. A few spots might open up from the wait list, but families would be notified directly from Camp Achieve if those spots open during the summer.

We need to collect all iPads, Chromebooks, hot spots and chargers from students unless they are participating in Camp Achieve or other district summer programs. If your child still has their ipad or Chromebook at home please bring the devices and chargers to school any time between 8-4:00 from June 18-25th. There will also be a one time pick-up service at Heather Place and Belleau Woods apartments on Monday, June 21st from 11-12. Look for members from the outreach team to be there to collect items. Library books may also be returned during these times.

Thrive After School program will be housed at Chehalem next year. THRIVE Registration opens to newcomers starting June 21. Click on this link for more information and see the flyers below.

The office will be open all next week and on Wednesdays from 11-3:00 starting July 7th. You can call and leave a message at 503-356-2060 and calls would be returned on those Wednesdays.

The updated school supply list is located further down the newsletter.

Best of luck to our 5th graders as they enter middle school. Enjoy your summer!!! See you in the fall.

Sincerely,

Angee Silliman

Principal

Summer Digital Citizenship

DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP: SUMMER

Got families asking about how to stay connected to learning this summer? Here’s a resource you can share with some engaging and interactive digital activities.

The Digital Summer Access Website has tools for reading, math, science, and more.

Students will need their BSD username and password information to access many of these.

Bike Rodeos This Summer

Dear Families,

We are hosting 6 free Bike Rodeos this summer in coordination with the Summer Meal Program. All ages are welcome to join us for a morning of fun on wheels! We will provide bike tune-ups, helmets for those who need them, and a fun bike skills/safety course.

Thank you.

Safe Routes to School Coordinator
