JBD FRIDAY FOCUS
JBD FAMILY NEWSLETTER - December 15, 2017
Holiday Time is Family Time
Dear Parents, Families, and Friends of JBD Students,
Please accept these heartfelt wishes for a relaxing and wonderful holiday! During the next few weeks, it is my hope that you find time to enjoy family and friends, stay warm, and if you are traveling, be safe. Those of you with loved ones deployed or families out of town, know our well wishes are with you. Deployments during the holidays can be hard for those deployed and also for those of you keeping the holiday season going on the home-front. As I remember my times with two small girls and a husband deployed, getting to that point where you are one gift wrap from a holiday meltdown, there is pride in the fact that my husband was serving our country. The sacrifices that are made by our service men and women overseas allow us to feel safe and sound here at home. Please know the John B. Dey community appreciates you all.
As we look forward to returning to school on January 2, 2018, we hope that books and reading time are on the list of 'to-do's! It is important to read every single day, even if it is just for a 20 minutes. Also, don't forget to practice those math facts! For those last minute gifts and stocking stuffers, school supplies are always a big hit! :)
Thank you parents for all you do for your children. They are a true pleasure and gifts to the teachers and staff at John B. Dey Elementary School.
Happy Holidays!

Principal
Awesome Performance by the 4th and 5th Grade Chorus and Chimes!
THANK YOU FROM MRS. ANSELL!
Bravo!
I am so proud of our Fifth Grade Chimes, Fifth Chorus, and Fourth Grade Chorus for your wonderful performance of "Sounds of the Season"! We received many, many compliments from parents and teachers. The singing, the ringing, solos, and piano playing were so very musical. Your hard working, respectful manners during rehearsals were the best Christmas gift!
- Choir Chimes will take a break until after the holiday.
- Fifth Grade Chorus will meet Monday morning during PE to choose our spring show, and talk about All City Chorus.
- Our Fourth Grade Chorus rehearsals have ended. I can't imagine a better way to end than the amazing performance you gave Tuesday night. I hope you will all consider joining the Fifth Grade Chorus in September.
Merry Christmas &
Happy Hanukkah
