Tiger Family Newsletter
The Week of April 2-6
Hello Tiger Families!
I hope you’re spending this weekend getting to celebrate the things that are important to you and your loved ones.
I would like to talk to you about something that’s important to all of us: our children being part of a safe, loving and friendly community. The thing that makes that possible is building relationships. We talk about that a lot at Timberline – teachers and students building relationships. And I think we need to spread that focus to include building relationships between our school and our families. Together, we can build a community where kids don’t feel left out and misunderstanding lessen because we know each other better! Students make better choices when they feel connected to others in their school and their community.
This Friday we are having our Timberline Sock Hop! This is such a great opportunity to make special memories with your family, for students to get to know kids in other grades and parents to meet other parents. We see each other at drop off and dismissal but we don’t get a chance to talk. Here’s our chance! There is a lot of conversation about safety in our schools right now and, as parents, it’s easy to feel the bigness of it and we struggle to know what we can do.
It sounds simple but coming to a Sock Hop is something we can do. It’s a step we can all take to make our community stronger, more connected and a little safer for our kids.
So come on out! Let’s show them what doing the Twist and the Mashed Potato are all about!
Proud to be your principal,
Ms. Ingram

The GCISD Website
As we transition to the new website, we are aware that if you search Google for items on the GCISD webpage, it directs you to our old site and will state that the link is broken. The District is working with Google to reroute traffic to the new webpage; however, we do not have a time table for its completion. If you go to www.gcisd.net and use the search tool at the top of the webpage, you will be able to find all of the content from the old site. We apologize for the inconvenience with Google and will provide any further updates as they are received. If you have any further questions or concerns, please contact the District using Let's Talk.

Ride Change, Doctor's Appointments and Emergency Care for Late Pickups
Ride Changes:
The school will follow the direction you provided about how your child gets home each day. If there is a change to this, you must notify the office in one of the following ways:
Send a written note with your child with details for how he or she will get home that day.
Email maria.reyes@gcisd.net and kimberly.becerra@gcisd.net with details for how you child will be picked up prior to 2:00 p.m.
Call the office 817-251-5770 prior to 2:00 p.m.
Changes cannot be made by text messages or calls to teachers. Teachers are working with your children during the school day and we can’t ensure that information will get to the office.
If your child has a doctor's appointment that requires leaving school early:
- Please notify the office the day before the appointment so the office has time to prepare necessary checkout for you.
- Pick up your child prior to 2:30 for early release. Because of the size of our school, we are not able to process early pickups after this time. This is a shared policy across GCISD elementary campuses.
- Send a doctor's note in with your child the following day so that we are able to excuse the partial absence.
If you have an emergency and are not able to pick up your child(ren) by 3:20:
- Your child(ren) will be taken to KidzU for supervision at which time an emergency care fee is charged.
- KidzU is located at the Timberline Annex, across from the LAC.
- Unless there are unforeseen circumstances such as inclement weather, our car rider dismissal line is cleared by 3:20.
- If possible, please call the office to alert us of the emergency.
