Description
Has single stranded positive-sense RNA genome. The genome consists of a single open reading frame of approximately eleven kb.
Name
The suspect goes by West Nile Virus, but he also goes by flavivirus.
Methods
The methods used to kill its victims are encephalitis or meningitis.
Attacking
The West Nile virus attacks its victims by making the host cell duplicate its RNA
Common Victims
The West Nile Virus's most common victims are humans and birds.
Hideout
The West Nile Virus was first discovered in the District of Uganda, but is found in Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Americas
Damage
The symptoms to the West Nile are:
- Abdominal Pain
- Fever, headache, and sore throat
- lack of appetite
- muscle aches
- nausea
- vomiting
- diarrhea
- rash
- swollen lymph nodes
Treatment/Prevention
Use insect repellent and wear long sleeved clothing to prevent the West Nile Virus.
The is no vaccine or specific treatment. In severe cases the victim should be hospitalized for supportive treatment.
