Another Long Weekend and Another Short Work Week

Welcome back to another school week. Thankfully its a short one. I do enjoy having a three day weekend. I enjoyed it by hanging out with my kids. We did some deep cleaning and then the kids had many birthday parties, sleepovers, and general play time with friends. I can honestly say that my children had a more interactive and fun filled weekend than I did. I can't complain though, I was able to get away on Monday and go skiing. You see, I have an acute case of 'ski-itis'. The only cure is to go skiing. It is great for stress management. It helps me keep my head in the game. What's your release? How do you keep yourself healthy?

In The Know

Grading Updates - I wanted to send a friendly reminder that we are approximately three weeks away from mid-term reports. If you have not seen recent updates in Synergy with your students progress, please let us know. We want to ensure that families have current information regarding their child's progress. Teachers will be updating grades this upcoming week in advance of mid-term reporting. This should give you a clear idea of you students status in each of their classes. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Kudos

Kevin Summerfield - I want to extend my sincere thanks to Kevin for all of his organization and planning for the MLK Assembly. I am very proud of the student unions and the work they put into sharing their message with the student body. While it may be difficult to stand up in front of ones peers, I must admit a strong sense of pride to each student that did so. You are true leaders. You collaborated on a common plan and worked hard to support each other is delivering that plan. Thank you Kevin for your coaching, your mentorship, and your focus on such a great assembly.

Casey Tiemann and Gene Chism - Thank you for your focus on our freshmen students. You both are working very hard to make sure that all 9th graders are on track for graduation. Additionally, you both go out of your way to ensure that students needs are met. I am proud of the work you do and your level of commitment to students. Thank you so much for keeping such a strong focus.

Misael Flores and Casandra Kamens - Thank you for being such a strong team. I am so thankful for your constant support. When times are tough you both dig in and work hard to see the job get done. I am very thankful to you both for your professionalism, your willingness to address issues as they come up, and your steadfast focus on what is best for students.
