Fracking and Mining
What is it, the differences, and affects on environment.
Differences
Subsurface Mining- Done lower than 200 feet below ground level.
Fracking
Types of Mining. (Surface, than sub-surface.)
Open Pit Mining
Causes a large hole, however, will eventually fill with water to make like groundwater.
Mountain Top Removal
This causes habitat destruction, river destruction, etc.
Strip Mining
This causes massive environment destruction, flattening or deprivation of land.
Slope Mining
Drift Mining
Shaft Mining
Environmental affects include groundwater pollution, holes in natural habitats, and the towers(like in the picture) are abandoned and wasted as material.
