Graduation, Checkouts, & Healthcare
Graduation!
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and statewide closure of public school sites (but not of learning!), we've moved our graduation online. Graduation at LILHS will now take place at 7 pm on Friday, June 12! Watch your inbox for more information.
As we're preparing for our virtual ceremony, we need your help! Every year we put together a slideshow featuring our graduates growing up. Please send us your baby pictures, childhood snapshots, adolescent selfies, and your best graduation photo for inclusion - just remember that this is for school graduation and will be published on the website/Facebook.
If you're buying your cap and gown, you can follow these steps:
- AS SOON AS POSSIBLE (by May 18) navigate to the following link: Graduation Cap & Gown Package.
- Under "Name of School," select 'Leaders in Learning Needs Stole $15.00' from the drop down menu.
- Under Tassel Color, select 'Teal.'
- Check out and pay for your order and it will be mailed to you.
If you need to borrow a cap and gown, email Kelly Ward to let her know you'll need to borrow them, along with your height so we can ensure we've got everything ready for you.
More information about when and where to pick up borrowed caps and gowns will be coming soon!

Nurse News
Our school nurse, Crista Langston, is still working and available! You might be thinking, but how can she help me? She can help answer any questions you might have about COVID-19 or about other health concerns. She can talk with students or parents. She can help connect you with resources. Maybe you’ve suffered a loss of income or employment and you need help finding and enrolling in health insurance or need help connecting to other social supports, like the food bank, or getting an appointment to see a mental health counselor.
Reach out to her during her office hours on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8am to 3pm at (360)804-4805 or email her at langstonc@monroe.wednet.edu.
She would love to hear from you, and is rooting for you to stay healthy and finish the school year strong.
Counselor's Corner
With everything going on in the world right now, it's easy to get caught up into the hurly-burly of work, school, and family and lose sight of taking care of ourselves - it's so important to practice mindfulness during this time.
Mindfulness is about being present in the moment, eliminating any negative, or ruminating thoughts and focusing on the physical sensations of your body. Actively practicing mindfulness can help enhance our mental health by decreasing stress, increasing self control, and improving energy levels. It can also increase resilience, and feelings of happiness and optimism. Now who couldn’t use a little more of…all of that!? As a fun activity, here's a game of mindfulness bingo to play at home. Special shout-outs will be given to anyone who gets a bingo or blackout and sends Blake a picture!
