Parent Tiger Talk
May 2018
It's Time to Celebrate!
Each May, we celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week. This is a time to thank our staff for their hard work and dedication. The success of our students is a direct result of their mindfulness, detailed planning, and preparation. So from teachers, educational assistants, office staff, custodians, food service staff, bus drivers to principals, we thank them for striving to make our vision as one of Wisconsin’s finest school districts, fostering excellence for all through innovation, a reality. They truly inspire learners, engage the community and enrich the world.
On May 21st, the Board celebrated the 202.5 years of RASD service from our retirees: MPES Title One Teacher Sherry Byng (29 years); BPES/Journey School Counselor Jocelyn Hoeper (37.5 years); RMS/Catalyst Physical Education Teacher Julie Feidt (33 years); Quest 4th Grade Teacher Brenda Rapp (30 years); Health Office Specialist Wendy McCulloch (27 years); BPES Journey Head Cook Carol Leahy (20 years); Custodian Leslie Klawitter (14 years); Maintenance and Grounds Brian Peppler (12 years). We extend our thanks to them for their dedicated service to the families of Ripon and wish them the very best.
As we look to wrap up another wonderful school year, please remember to sign up your child for summer school if you have not already.
Have a wonderful summer,
Mary

Science and Engineering Camp
The Ripon Area School District, in collaboration with Ripon College, will host a two-week residential engineering and science camp for interested students entering grades 9-12. As a camp participant, students will explore many types of engineering fields and see how they can lead to great careers while interacting with students from another country. Students will have the opportunity to work with Ripon High School and Ripon College Staff to explore chemical engineering and science in the natural world during the day. Students may also choose to participate in optional leadership activities with their high school peers and our international guests during the evening at no cost. This entire camp, offered as an extension to summer school, is free of charge to RASD students. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to earn a 0.5 science credit toward their graduation requirements. Contact Britnie Meyer at meyerb@ripon.k12.wi.us or (920) 748-4600 today.
