- Chamber/Phil/Concert did awesome at UIL! We are so proud of the kids! A HUGE thank you to the parents who chaperoned!
- Check with your private teacher about Chamber Music Festival solos! Copies of the solo and PIANO PART are due to Mrs. Long and Ms. Goad by March 18. Students who are in lessons are required to perform a solo at the Richardson Chamber Music Festival on April 27.
- Remember Orchestra is a skill-based cumulative program! Students should be practicing every day at home for 30+ minutes in order to keep up with the rigors of Orchestra. The 30+ minutes can be divided into 2 practice sessions (ex: morning/afternoon or before/after dinner).

Garland Symphony needs volunteers!
The Garland Symphony Orchestra is looking for volunteers to help with our 2018-19 Season. We need 6-8 volunteers at each of our performances. Our season is as follows:
March 15
April 19
May 10
For each concert, students will need to arrive at the Granville Performing Arts Center (300 N. Fifth St.) at 6:15 PM. We ask that they be dressed in “Sunday Best.” (No jeans allowed). Duties will include ushering, taking tickets, filling programs, and general help throughout the hall. Students are welcome to stay to watch the performance free-of-charge but must stay through the end of intermission. Volunteers are eligible to earn up to 3 hours of community service.
Please contact me if students are interested, and I can add them to our volunteer list. Thank you for your help!
Kind regards,

Get your fees in!!
Statements have been emailed! Students are notified every day via our classroom slides! Charms is available for checking your balances 24/7!
The following are the fees due. We accept checks (written to Richardson Area Orchestra Club [RAOC], cash, or credit card payments through Charms. Each student in the RHS Orchestra is responsible for the program’s operation. The philosophy is that each high school student will share an equal part of the financial responsibility of funding orchestra program expenses not provided by the district. Some of these expenses include special music arrangements, contest entry fees, instruments, equipment and repair not provided by the RISD, clinician fees, food and drinks for orchestra activities, orchestra banquet expenses, rental of off-campus performance venues, scholarships, and orchestra club administrative costs such as website maintenance, postage and printing. Please refer to the RHS Handbook for a complete breakdown of fees.
