Early College Scholars Program at FLCC Office of Concurrent Enrollment
Get a Jump Start on College!
There are a few different ways to take classes, and the option you pursue will depend on your educational goals. Perhaps you are looking at ways to supplement your high school programming or seeking an alternative way to satisfy high school graduation requirements (based on specific agreement with school district).
If you intend to pursue a degree at FLCC after high school graduation, you may be interested in a coordinated time-shortened program where students are participating in FLCC courses in the high school in addition to on-campus courses. Upon high school graduation, you may be able matriculate to FLCC with sophomore status.
Students Under the Age of 16
Requests from individuals under the age of 16 to enroll in coursework at FLCC will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis by the Office of Concurrent Enrollment. Permission will be granted based on the student's academic preparedness for college-level work, completion of course prerequisites, and age appropriateness of course material. Students under the age of 16 are permitted to register for a maximum of 7 credits per semester. If permission is granted, the student would be permitted to enroll as a non-matriculated student only (i.e. non-degree seeking student).
New students under the age of 16 must meet with a staff member from the Office of Concurrent Enrollment to discuss their educational goals and course selection. Continued participation or subsequent enrollment will be evaluated on a semester basis based upon academic performance.
