What's the scoop at the Luce?
Hello Luce Families,
As we head into the first-holiday break, I am reminded of how grateful I am to serve as your Principal. I am honored to work alongside you and to watch your children grow their curiosity as learners and meet and surpass their academic goals daily. I am grateful to be a member of this great community that I call home.
You should know that I am very grateful for our partnerships and your investment in our school and learning community. As we go into the holiday break I wish you a restful and relaxing time with your loved ones.
Please make sure to read the short bulletin for important updates for the short week ahead.
This week is a short week due to Thanksgiving. Wednesday, November 23 is a half day and school hours are from 8:20-11:50 am. Please make sure to plan for pickup. We do not have school on Thursday, November 24th, and Friday, November 25th.
Luce Culture Survey
We are sending home a Culture Survey on Monday, November 22. Please fill it out and return it to your child's classroom teacher by Friday, December 2nd. The class with the highest combined Parent Survey and Culture Survey return rate will get a prize.

Magazines Needed
Ms. Grey, our amazing art teacher, is in need of magazines for a class project. Please bring in any magazines, catalogs, or brochures that you may have to support the project. A box will be placed outside of the school for donations.
Parent/Guardian Survey
The Family Survey will be sent out to the Luce community on November 14. The survey closes on November 21. Please fill out the survey—your voice matters!
If your child is receiving reading support in the reading room, please join us for our Title 1 Information Night on Tuesday, November 29 at 6:30 pm at the Rodman Administration Building in Room 33A. Please RSVP via the email that you received from Ms. Coyle, our Title 1 Coordinator.
Luce DEI
The Luce DEI will launch in November on the last Tuesday of the month on November 29. We are looking for members who are interested in joining the team. Our goal this year is to create a sense of belonging at the Luce for all community members. If you are interested in joining our DEI team, please email me directly at: lamoury@cantonma.org.

I don't know about you, but the week before Thanksgiving always brings me so much joy, happiness, and STRESS! It kicks off the holiday season and it's just a busy time of the year. If you are feeling stressed out, your kids may be too and that's okay! A little bit of stress is not bad, but help your littles gain some tools to help them handle stress in a productive way that will make them more resilient adults. Luce CAPT Update
2022 Luce Holiday Shop! Join the Luce CAPT to celebrate the giving season with this year’s Holiday Shop. We are returning to the traditional approach where it will be held in the School Cafeteria after a half-day, this year on Friday, December 9, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. (after early dismissal). The Luce CAPT has been busy all year finding great items for the kids (and parents and siblings and friends!) to buy for their loved ones for the holidays. Prices range from $1 - $8 and there is something for everyone - even our furry friends! In addition to great gifts for everyone, there will be a free wrapping station for the kids to wrap their presents, and Spirit Wear! All children must be accompanied by an adult to attend. *More details coming soon* ***If any families require financial assistance to participate in the Holiday Shop, please email Principal Lamour at at lamoury@cantonma.org***

Project 351 Food Drive
Jasmine Findlen and Tara Geoghan will be hosting a food drive November 14-23 in support of the Canton Food Pantry. Please consider donating generously at any of the donation bin locations found in the flyer below. Our bin will be placed at the Main Entrance. Even 1 can will make a difference to all the families that use the pantry prior to Thanksgiving. You may also make monetary donations through PayPal on the pantry's website. Thank you!

Math Webinar
On Wednesday, November 2, we held two math webinars for elementary parents and guardians in Grades K-2 and Grades 3-5. The webinar shared information about our curriculum review process and why Reveal Math was chosen, shared some components of the program and helped parents understand how they can access the online resources from home. The recordings of the webinar are available for parents.

K-5 Curriculum Overviews (Repost)
Elementary Curriculum Overviews
Information about the curriculum taught at each grade level in core subjects; English/Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies, can be found in the new Curriculum Overviews that are available on the District website. They have been translated into Arabic, Chinese, Haitian Creole, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese. If you need a different language, please contact Deborah Rooney at rooneyd@cantonma.org or your child's teacher.
