As our first semester continues on, I wanted to thank all of our students, staff, and parents for all of their hard work to make this school year so successful. It takes a collaborative effort from all parties to make the school year achieve what we have so far, and will continue to do.

October was by far our busiest month of the year so far. Our PK-3rd grade classes visited the firehouse at the conclusion of Fire Prevention and Safety Week. Our school also participated in Red Ribbon Week with many fun themed dress up days, and contests amongst classes. We also had a fantastic Halloween parade and held classroom parties. The community turnout for our parade was spectacular to see.

As the calendar turned towards November we started our month off with a couple of fun events. We held our annual Fall Literacy Night for our Title 1 Program on the 3rd. We had fun literacy themed games in the classrooms, provided dinner for everyone, and had opportunities for students and families to receive free books, and set up a library card. We also had our 2nd Bulldog of the Month Assembly for our monthly character trait, and our teachers and students had some fun as well.

The rest of November will remain busy. The construction of our new safe room/cafeteria will begin shortly. We are excited for this opportunity for our students. On Veteran's Day our students will be attended our Veterans Day Assembly and learned about the importance of these heroes. During the week of Thanksgiving, we will be have Puppy Pals where we partner students in different grades together and work on reading activities.

As we head into December, we will start the month of with our Elementary Christmas Concert. Our 5th and 6th grade students will join the 7-8th graders for a basketball game at Drury University on December 6th for their annual "Kids Day". We will also lots of fun Christmas plans coming towards the end of the month.

Winter is approaching and that means that we could have weather that would require us to cancel school.

A local education agency (LEA) will not be required to make up school hours that are lost or canceled due to exceptional or emergency circumstances (up to 36 hours). This allows our school district to implement alternative learning methods in place of up to 6 days of learning.

• Teachers will be working remotely and will be checking their email and Google Classroom throughout the day. Please reach out to your teachers with any questions.
• Students are responsible for logging on and completing their work.
• If you do not have stable internet at home, please call the office to check out a hotspot.
• Completing the assigned AMI work will result in your student being present and they will receive credit for their assignments.
