Upcoming Deadlines & Important Dates
February 2nd
- For the spring 2022 administration of TELPAS, a TELPAS Coordinator Resources document will be posted to secure inboxes in TIDE on Wednesday, February 2, 2022.
- This document will include information about TELPAS online holistic rating training, as well as passcodes for monitored calibration sessions.
- The information in this document should only be shared with other designated personnel acting as district coordinator assistants or campus testing coordinators.
- Raters should be provided the appropriate passcode at monitored calibration sessions.
February 3rd-17th
- Student registration, including submitting test attribute information, for the May 2022 STAAR grades 3–8 administration will be available through TIDE from February 3–17, 2022.
- The number of students registered in TIDE with test format set to paper and specific test attribute values selected before the last day of the initial order window will be used to determine the quantity of paper test materials delivered in a district's shipment. The number of test administrator manuals delivered will be based on the total number of May STAAR registrations (paper or online).
February 4th
- Districts must register out-of-district (OOD) and out-of-school (OOS) test sites for the May 2022 STAAR EOC administration by February 4, 2022. The test site registration form is available on the Texas Assessment website under Other Testing Resources.
- May 2022 STAAR Grades 3-8 Administration: Once a district has submitted student registration and test attribute information, Initial Order Materials Lists will be available in TIDE starting February 4, 2022. These order lists show the quantities of materials a district is scheduled to receive in the initial shipment and are posted at the district and campus level.
February 7th
- Beginning February 7, 2022, districts will be able to create test sessions for TELPAS in the Test Administrator Interface of the Test Delivery System (TDS). For instructions on how to create a test session, refer to the Test Delivery System (TDS) User Guide.
- In addition, February 7 is the first date TELPAS writing samples may begin to be collected, as well as the first day the calibration window opens for new and returning raters.
February 11th
- Deadline for districts to order additional paper test materials for TELPAS.
- Districts will use the specific paper administration drop down in TIDE to order additional materials.
February 21st
- The February PEIMS file will be used to update missing student information in TIDE.
Interim Assessments
TEA recommends February for Window 3 tests for the most accurate prediction of STAAR performance.
NOTE: New versions of English I and English II interim assessments will be available to administer beginning on February 7, 2022.
Interim Assessments Administration Window 3 is open January 10th - April 15th for:
- 3–8 reading
- Spanish 3–5 reading,
- 3–8 mathematics,
- Spanish 3–5 mathematics,
- Algebra I,
- English I,
- English II
NOTE: New versions of English I and English II interim assessments will be available to administer beginning on February 7, 2022.
TELPAS & Accountability
The English Language Proficiency component of the Closing the Gaps domain evaluates TELPAS and TELPAS Alternate results for grades K–12.
- Current year TELPAS and TELPAS Alternate results are compared to the prior year results to determine if the students made progress.
- Whether the optional 2020 TELPAS results will be considered for students without a 2021 result is still under discussion and will be shared in the 2022 Accountability System Framework in February.
February PEIMS Information Update
- NOTE: There will be no PEIMS registration upload to TIDE. The February PEIMS file will be used to update missing student information. Districts must register all students in TIDE.
February 2022 Stand-Alone Field-Test
As a reminder, participating districts and campuses are now able to create test sessions in TIDE for the stand-alone field test.
- Based on district feedback, a new question regarding creating test sessions has been added to the Stand-Alone Field-Test Frequently Asked Questions.

Communications
To improve the accessibility of email communications and continue to provide educators with necessary and helpful information, TEA Student Assessment Division posts broadcast emails sent to district testing coordinators.

DCCR
The District and Campus Coordinator Resources, a collection of webpages, is prepared for its initial publishing at the beginning of each school year. For the 2021–2022 school year, additional updates are planned in the fall and again in the spring.
Analytic Portal
This feature allows users to view, analyze, and download assessment summary reports. Users can disaggregate and filter data and download reports in a PDF or CSV format.
