From Our School Nurse
February is National Dental Health Month. Drs. Jeremy and Jaime Hill from Hill Dentistry volunteered to visit our school February 12 to perform dental screenings for all grades. This is a free, voluntary service; they will take a quick look in your student's mouth - no treatments will be performed. A card will be sent home with the screening results. If you prefer your student does not participate in this screening, or if you have any questions please call me at 307-587-4279..

Random Acts of Kindness Week poster challenge!
The week of February 11-17 is Random Acts of Kindness Week. To celebrate, Mrs. Baumstarck created a “Be Silly, Be Honest, Be Kind” poster challenge! There is a list of suggested tasks on the poster that students accomplish. Once they have completed an act of kindness, honesty, or silliness Mrs. Baumstarck will give them a sticker to put on the poster. Students can do as many challenges as they want!
Sunset Music Happenings
It’s time to mark your calendar for the 2nd and 3rd grade musical, Arf! It will be performed at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 22nd, at the High School Wynona Thompson Auditorium. All students need to be seated with their parents in an auditorium seat by 6:15 p.m.
Speaking parts will be handed out on Friday, Feb. 2nd. If your child has a speaking part, please practice the part each night at home so it will be memorized in time for the program. A costume note will be coming home Feb. 5th.
If you have any questions, please call (587-4279) or email me at (kpinney@park6.org) and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
Thank you,
Miss Pinney

Other Closures
3rd Grade Swim Lessons
Free swimming lessons are being offered by the Rec Center to 3rd graders, The next two sessions are February 26 through March 7 and April 1 through April 11, Mondays through Thursdays. Class sizes are limited to 12 students per class. Due to class sizes and to maximize the time allowed for teaching swim classes, there are two different time slots; 3:45 to 4:15 p.m. and 4:15-4:45 p.m. Once all lessons are complete all children still in the pool will be directed to the locker rooms to change.
Rec Center registration forms and information about the swimming lessons were sent home in January, information about the lessons are also on the Sunset website at https://5il.co/2bxkc. Completed registration forms need to be returned to the Rec Center. A bus will transport students from Sunset School to the Rec Center, parents will pick up their student after the lesson. Parents must pick their student up at the Rec Center NO LATER than 5:00 p.m.
Make sure your student leaves home with their swimming clothes and a towel!
Save the Date!
TOWN is coming up March 1! Just a reminder for students and parents: Students must have all work completed and turned in to the teacher by a week before the date of town, this trimester it is February 23. Students are given notice of missing work well in advance, so it should not be a surprise if they
have missing work. In addition to independent reading, students need to submit 30 reading logs, students need to have a balance of $1500 or more in their checking account. Students will be excused from town if they have forgotten their town supplies.
We want the focus on this Town to remain on the students/entrepreneurs and the hard work they put into their business with their partner. Parents can drop off supplies for their child’s TOWN business on the morning of TOWN. Parents will be invited along with other classes from Sunset to the final TOWN (third trimester) from 12:30-1:00.
Thank you!

Dress warmly, it's cold out there!
Please label your student's coat, hat, mittens, lunch box etc. with their name. This makes it easier to return misplaced items to the proper owner! Thank you.
