Department Updates
Notes from the Health Room
If you recently received a mandated form for next school year (2nd grade dental, 6th grade physical, or 7th grade dental) it stated to upload the document. I was just informed that the only time a document can be uploaded is while completing the online census form. Therefore, please send in the paper copy by October 15th, please keep a copy for your records.
All screenings have been completed for this school year. You can find your child’s BMI (Body Mass Index) on parent portal.
Please remember to dress appropriately for the cold weather, hats, gloves, scarves, and a heavy coat. The children will most likely be going outside for either a full recess or a shortened recess for fresh air. On extremely cold days they will remain inside for indoor recess. Also, please make sure to label all your child’s belongings, our lost and found is growing. If you are missing anything, please have your child check the lost and found.

Student Assisting the Butler Scholarship Fund
Butler is always proud of the great things children do in and outside of the school. In December, one of our second grade Butler Bears decided to help raise money for the Butler Scholarship Fund - by holding a neighborhood sale. The Scholarship Fund was created to help families in need for school-sponsored events. Samantha organized the stand taking account of the winter season - offering kindling, hot cocoa and hand-made hats & scarves to purchase. So kind and giving - Thank you SAMANTHA!
Dear Butler,
I had a Kindling Stand in December. I sold kindling, hot cocoa, scarves and kid hats. I had this stand to keep people warm and get money for the Butler Scholarship Fund to help people in need. We made $142.52! I’m grateful everyone who helped me!

Samantha S.Veterans of Foreign Wars - Patriot's Pen Essay Contest for 6th Grade

In connection with Veteran's Day, some of our students participated and were presented with a certified VFW medal on Thursday, January 31st in front of their classmates. Those students included: Maggie S., Kiarra H., Emma L., and Pihu B.
Thanks to the VFW for their acknowledgment of Butler's continued support of Veterans!
