The Rainforest Biome

What is it like there
Climate
In the tropical rain forest the temperature can get to be 93°F. There is so much moisture in the air from all the rain that the air feels thick and steamy.
Landscape
The rain forest has an emergent layer at the top, then comes the canopy, the understory and finally the forest floor.
Where are they located?
Where in the world?
The rain forest is in:
- Central and South America
- Africa - Zaire, West Africa and Madagascar
- Asia - India, Assam, Southeast Asia, New Guinea and Queensland, Australia
Vegetation
How do plants survive?
The rainforest has plants that each have some ways to adapt to make sure life continues. They all have some thing in common ... NOTHING. They all have unique features, but none are the same.
Animal Life
How do animals survive?
Like the plants, many animals in the rain forest have interesting adaptations. Such as the monkeys' tails that grab the trees, and many animals have bright colors and patterns to blend in with the plant life. They also eat a lot of fruit.
