SBUSD Spirit Week!

Big picture

Updated Remote Learning

Following Spring Break we want to remind you of the small changes that we've made to our remote learning. As a district we are focusing on maintaining student's academic skills and enriching their connections with teachers and classmates. Every classroom will have Monday and Friday classroom meets to allow students to "see" one another and stay connected. Our academic expectations are limited to 1-2 hours of daily work (depending on grade level), focusing on meeting the student where their academic needs are. Teachers will be offering daily office hours to allow students to connect with them with questions or to simply check in. Every student will also have a one-on-one meeting with their teacher during the week. We would love parents to join in on the office hours or the individual student meetings. We are here to support both the parent and the student!

From the Family Resource Center:

The Family Resource Center is still open and serving families. At this point, if you are in need of services please reach out to Cassi, FRC Coordinator, at 707-296-0083. We can help families file for unemployment, assist you with obtaining free internet, as well as many other things!

Regarding mental health support:
If you are feeling anxious, worried, or depressed related to the current health crisis and need someone to talk to, please reach out to the support line DHHS has set up at 707-268-2999. It is staffed Monday-Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM. You are not in this alone! The FRC is also available to assist with connecting you to these resources.

Breakfast & Lunch Pick Up

TUESDAY 8 am until we run out!

Drop by South Bay starting at 8 am to pick up a 5 day supply of breakfast, lunch and super supper for ALL the children in your household. Tuesday will also include the bus run (see website for times/locations). During the county-wide Shelter-In-Place, we will be offering a week of meals in one day. If you know of other families that need food for their children please let them know this is open to all families in the area. Please pick up your food early. There will be enough for 350 children. When they run out we are done for the week.

Chromebook Care Information

With all students using school Chromebooks at home, please be sure that you are using them with as much care as you would at school. See the attached link below that reviews the expectations of use with your school device!
