This month we will dig into the skills and behaviors that help us make good friends by using our words and actions to show others we care!

We will be recognizing students that have perfect attendance each month, beginning in September. Any student that has zero tardies and zero absences will be entered into a drawing. We will draw 5 student names and they will have an opportunity to get a book from our vending machine.

Our goal is to improve our daily attendance rate as our funding is linked to our average daily attendance.

Dear Parents,

The following information is for any parent of a child in grades 1-4 who would like to refer their child for the Carroll ISD Gifted and Talented Program. The referral form will be open August 28, 2023 through September 15, 2023 and can be found at the link below, along with additional information in regards to identifying giftedness.

The deadline for referrals is September 15, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. There are no exceptions to the deadline.

GT Referral Link 2023

Gifted vs High Achiever

Gifted Learner vs Bright Learner

The gifted program is called Quest at the elementary level. It is an interdisciplinary program where students are encouraged to make connections and view the world in a more global manner. Students in grades 1-3 will test in small groups during school hours in September and October. All 4th grade students will complete testing in their homeroom classes in October. Students must meet Phase I cognitive criteria in order to move forward to the Phase II portion of the screening process. Phase II involves testing in the area of achievement.

For more information about the Quest program, you can visit the Carroll ISD webpage: Carroll ISD Gifted and Talented Program.

I am happy to answer any questions regarding the testing process and GT program. I can be reached at renea.wainwright@southlakecarroll.edu or 817-949-4653.

Have a great day!

The teachers, students, and employees at Carroll ISD depend on the dedication of the wonderful volunteers that we have in our community. We cannot thank our volunteers enough for sacrificing their valuable time and efforts in support of our District.

Every volunteer must complete an application and a background check to ensure the safety of our students. Applications and background checks must be completed prior to each school year to ensure the district has updated information on each volunteer. Please note that a background check can take up to 1 week to be processed and cannot be done on the spot at the campus.

Click here to begin your application to become a Carroll ISD Volunteer.

You can help by serving our dragons as they come through the lunch line. Learn more about how you can volunteer and make a difference by clicking here: CISD Lunch Volunteer

You can honor your child’s birthday by sponsoring a new book for our library.

For a donation of $20.oo (covers the cost of the book and all processing costs) your child will receive the following when his/her birthday arrives:

Your child will get to select a book from our special selection of new books.

A book plate with a picture will be placed in the book.

Your child is the first to check out the book and when the book is returned it will be placed into our library collection for all to enjoy.
