Light
Reflection, Refraction, and Beams
Reflection
When light hits a reflective surface, it bounces off in the other direction. This is because the surface is shiny even though it is opaque, something solid that you cannot see through.
Absorbtion
Light is mostly absorbed in opaque objects such as blocks, but a little is absorbed in translucent objects such as curtains. None is absorbed in transparent objects, such as glass.
Key words
Transparent
when something is completely clear and you can see through it, such as air.
Translucent
When something lets a small bit of light through and also blocks a bit, such as curtains.
Refract
When light is bent, such as when a raindrop refracts light to create a rainbow
Light is everywhere!
Refraction
When light passes through certain things, such as water it refracts or bends
