Greek architechure is known for their colums. There are 3 types of colums: Dorric, Innonic, and Corinthian. Other types of greek art are paintings, pottery, and sculptures. Every city-state had a temple dedicated to a specific god. They went there to worship gods and make sacrafice. Some leaders like Percilse and Alexander the great spread the Greek architecture throughout Europe.

We see Greek architecture today in important buldings like The White House, The Lincoln Memorial, and the Capitol Building.

Greek government was a democracy. There was a direct democracy, which means voters were allowed to voice their opinion and vote on laws. All white males were allowed to vote. No blacks, slaves, women, or children were allowed to vote. The leaders changed yearly and were drawn from a hat. 2 major wars were the Persian War and the Pelipinisian War. We see their government in today in ours in voting terms, out speaking thoughts, and needing to be 18 to vote.

The greeks used myths and stories to explian everything around them that they they couldn't explain themselves. Some heros mythological heros were Perseus, Herccues,Jason, etc. Some gods are listed below. Many people can share credit for writing mythology, but after some reserch I found the name Apollodorus of Athens. They belived that when died they had a spirt that lived on and must cross the river of Styx to get to the Underworld.

Greek mythology is reflected in todays movie, books, and TV shows, like Percey Jackson, Clash of the Titans, Hercules.

The only people allowed to pllay sports were males. However, the people allowed to watch were gods, males, and unmarried females. The sports they played were javlin, boxing, running, shot-put, and discus. These sports were played to honor the gods, which made the players VERY honnored to play them.

We see Greek sports today in modern track and field. Many of the sports that they played we play in track and field competition and the olympics.

Some philosophers of Ancient Greece were Hippocrates, Plato, and Socrates. A book that Plato wrote was The Replblic. Some greek philosophical achivements were roman numerals and PI. Greek philosophers lived in fear for they were questioning the gods.

We see ancient greek philosophy in todays philosophy in the Hippocratic Oath that docters take and also in mathematicl terms such as PI.
