Have a wonderful week, and thank you for being apart of our school community!

CCS Project Based Learning - Creating a School Garden

The kindergarteners are very excited to be learning with some of our older students and Chichester community members to create a very special outdoor garden to share with our school. They have been learning all about the life cycle of plants and the necessary conditions for them to grow and thrive. They have been collaborating with some of Mr. Gagnon's seventh graders and the Environmental Club to begin their research and planning. Earlier this week, a very special guest came to the classroom to share her knowledge and do some more planting with us. Stay tuned for updates and hopefully in June, the big reveal!

Would you like to help? 🧑‍🌾🍅

If you are an avid gardener or builder with knowledge/skills to share we would love your help with this project! The Environmental Club is generously donating some of their fundraising proceeds to purchase supplies, but we would love to involve the community with this project as well. The following is a list of supplies we are hoping to acquire:

  • 75 linear feet of 2 x 10 pressure treated lumber (for border around fence)
  • 4 yards of 3/4 inch gravel (to establish a strong base)
  • 2 yards of stone dust (to put on top of gravel)
  • 4 yards of plant bed loam preferably with 20% organic compost (dirt doctors)
  • access to a compactor will be useful (gravel should be compacted to level)
  • 100 linear feet of non-pressure treated 2 x 10 lumber (to build raised beds)
  • Various garden tools, gloves, watering cans, etc

Please email Mrs. Rowe,, if you would like to donate time, materials or have other ideas to share.

Volunteers Wanted for Classrooms and PTO Events!

Big picture
There are so many ways that volunteers make a difference for our kids. Consider helping out in one of our classrooms or joining the CCS PTO. There are many special events coming up and many hands make light work. Please make sure you are on our list of approved volunteers by calling Mrs. Burke in the main office. If you are not on the list, she will give you all of the information you need to join our team of amazing volunteers.

Chichester PTO Easter Egg Event

The Easter Egg Drop was a great success last weekend! What a great turn out we had and it was SO fun to see our families smiling and socializing after a long winter! We can't wait to build upon this for years to come!

There are so many people and places to thank for their donations of time, funds, and services. While we didn't get to have our hayride or story time, we would like to thank Concord Tractor, CM Trailers and Chichester Library for their generous offers. We look forward to incorporating these parts next year!

We would also like to thank:

*CCS students and staff

*Cy Tapley our resident EB

*CR Helicopters

*Chichester Fire Dept

*Hope in Christ Church

*FL Merrill Construction

*American Way Realty

*Clark's Grain Store

*Parks and Rec committee

*Town of Chichester

*Multiple community members who contributed candy, eggs and funds

*Our PTO members who put a ton of time and consideration into creating this event! We are a small group of volunteers trying to help where we can. Please consider joining our team, we will always welcome your contributions!

PTO Fundraiser, Little Caesar's Pizza

With spring sports on the horizon, we know what those chaotic evenings are like after a late practice. So we chose a fundraiser that felt appropriate for the upcoming season. Having a meal ready in 10 minutes or less is great on those crazy nights, but when it's fun for kids to help make too, that's a bonus! Each kit makes 3 pizzas, and everything comes individually packed so it can be easily stored in the freezer.

Please be on the look out for information coming home on Little Caesars pizza kits. There's a few options to choose from, and even cookies and bread sticks. Below is a look at the options.

A portion of sales from this event will go to the PTO, who in turn will use it to fund everything from community and school events to financial aid for students and school initiatives. So please consider sharing with your friends and family!

Sale Dates: 3/28-4/22/22
