Agendas
In addition to our class webpages, an easy way for you to receive information about your child's day is through the agendas. At the beginning of each rotation, students are expected to take out their agendas and copy the message from the screen. Agenda messages are usually just topics that we will be studying that day. If your child has a special Homework assignment that needs to be turned in, they will be highlighted. Please sign and return Agendas Daily.
Attendance, Tardies, and Make-Up Work
ATTENDANCE
When a student must be out because of illness or family business, please call the office or send us an email to let us know. When your child returns, please send a note stating the reason for the absence.
TARDIES
School begins at 7:45. If your child arrives after that time, they must check in at the office in order to receive a tardy permit.
MAKE-UP WORK
Students will be given the number of days they were absent + 1 additional day to complete any make-up their work. Make-up work will be provided upon return.
HOMEWORK
MATH
Students who do not complete assignments in class will have to complete them for homework each night. We will also have Math Fact practice for homework weekly.
WRITING
Homework will vary weekly depending on the unit. It will always be written by your child in the agenda and communicated on Mrs. Ebert's Webpage. Be on the lookout for spelling lists and information coming home in a couple of weeks. Students will receive their lists on Monday and their Spelling Tests will be on Friday. (This will not be on a weekly basis.)
SOCIAL STUDIES
Social Studies homework will be more project based and the students will have an extended amount of time to complete.
READING
Students are required to log 4 nights of reading throughout the week. 20 minutes each. Be expecting Literature Circles to start this fall.
LATE WORK
11 points will be deducted for the 1st day an assignment is turned in late. After the first day, additional points will be deducted each day until the assignment is turned in.
If late work becomes a habit for a student, the teacher will contact the parent to discuss how the problem can be remedied.
