VH1 Save the Music Concert - A SOLD OUT Success!

Congratulations to all of the many CBSD students and teachers who performed in the VH1 Save the Music Concert last weekend. They sang songs around the theme of "Space Jams' to sold-out crowds. ALL THREE SHOWS WERE SOLD OUT! The overall total raised is $35,467.31 and the donations are still coming in!!! We certainly met our goal and will be able to provide a core grant (instruments, books, stands, etc…) for one instrumental music program in Orleans Parish District in New Orleans! Thank you for your support of this incredible service project led by our amazing CBSD Music Teachers! Click here to see and hear one of the many songs they performed in service to others.

Innovation in Classrooms

On Thursday, Tamanend welcomed middle school, high school, and central office administrators into our classrooms to observe using George Couros' Eight Things to Look for in Today's Classroom as a focus. As our classroom technologies grow, we want to increase opportunities for student voice and choice, connected learning, time for self-assessment and reflection, critical thinking, problem finding and solving, and of course, innovation. George Couros, author of Innovator's Mindset, will talk to all CBSD teachers during the February Professional Development days. And we will continue that discussion as we learn and plan for new technologies that are becoming available to us. It is a very exciting time to be a teacher and learner in CBSD!

Student Panel Discussion with Aramark

Mrs. Jennifer Kovacs and Ms. Chelsea Williams from Aramark Food Services met with ninth graders Garret M., Jonah S., Molly K., Kelli D., and Lily M. to discuss new ideas for food options for both breakfast and lunch. As a result, we will always include a "Quick and Helpful Link" (below) to our cafeteria menus so that students can easily see their food options each day. Be on the look out for more variety, options and theme days to come!
