Football Travels to Mountain Brook
Hewitt-Trussville Football will hit the road again on Friday night as they travel to Mountain Brook for a Region 3 game. The Spartans are 6-0 overall on the season and 4-0 in 7A Region 3. Mountain Brook is coming off a 42-14 win over Oak Mountain.
The Huskies and Spartans have split their last four meetings. In 2013, Mountain Brook won 34-13. A year later in 2014, the Huskies were victorious 28-10. In 2015, Hewitt-Trussville defeated the Spartans 35-14. Last year, the Spartans topped the Huskies 20-17.

Cross Country: Jesse Owens Recap
Hewitt-Trussville Cross Country traveled to Moulton on Saturday and competed with some of the top teams from around the country. In all, over 4,500 runners competed at the Jesse Owens Invitational.
The HT Boys competed in the Gold division, which was the most competitive division in the event. The HT Boys ran well and placed 10th out of 30 teams. A total of 216 runners competed in the Gold division race. Nathan Knox was the top finisher for the Huskies as he placed 29th overall. Four others also finished within the top 100 overall. Alex Jones finished 71st, Mac Brooks finished 75th, Mitchell Phillips finished 82nd and Kent Glover finished 91st.
The HT Girls also competed in the Gold division against some of the best teams in the country. The Huskies finished 21st as a team. Maci Mills was the top individual finisher as she placed 39th. The other top finishers for the Huskies were Olivia Browning, Sophia Knox, Ellie Kate Jones and Sophie Bryant.
The HT Freshmen Boys also had a great race as they captured top honors.
The Huskies will travel to Decatur on October 12 for their next race. HT will host the 7A Section 3 meet on October 31.

Student Athletic Pass Pickup Information
In an effort to increase our fan base and make game attendance more affordable, Student Athletic Passes will be available for the second time ever for the 2019-2020 school year. Every student in the district (K-12) will have the opportunity to have their own personalized athletic pass card. With this pass, students will be able to enter ALL HTMS and HTHS home regular season sporting events. The pass is $20 and can be purchased during registration as an item on the activity sheet.

Q. What is the purpose of the Student Athletic Pass?
A. The Student Athletic Pass will be available to ALL students in the district (K-12). Our goal is to make it easier and more affordable for students to attend Hewitt-Trussville sporting events.
Q. What can I attend with this pass?
A. Students that have their pass can enter ALL HTMS and HTHS home regular season sporting events. Every sport! For the entire 2019-2020 school year!
Q. How much does this pass cost?
A. The Student Athletic Pass is $20
Q. How do I purchase a Student Athletic Pass?
A. Passes are available at all five TCS schools and can be purchased through registration
Q. Do students with a Student Athletic Pass still need to buy a ticket?
A. No. The Student Athletic Pass is good for admission to ALL HTMS and HTHS regular season home games. Tickets will need to be purchased for playoff games only.
MS Football Wins Again
Hewitt-Trussville Middle School Football is still undefeated in Division play! Last Thursday, the Huskies traveled to Homewood and won a pair of games. The 7th Grade won 24-14 and the 8th Grade won 36-6.
In the 7th Grade game, Noah Dobbins rushed 15 times for 77 yards and a touchdown. Dobbins also completed 10-16 passes for 114 yards and two touchdowns. Jacob Serena had seven catches for 73 yards and added a touchdown. Nyle Winston had three carries for 24 yards and added a receiving touchdown.
On defense, Jacob Serena had six tackles and a sack. William Lamons had four tackles, Alijah Gardner had five tackles, Michael Igbinoghene had five tackles and Hunter Curtis had an interception.
In the 8th Grade game, Peyton Floyd had 110 yards rushing on eight carries. He was 9-14 passing for 110 yards and two touchdowns. Jaqson Melton had six carries for 69 yards and a score. Brett Mosley had six catches for 90 yards. DJ Barnes had three catches for 20 yards and two scores.
On defense, Zavier Austin had three tackles, Tyrell Averhart had four tackles and two sacks, Ben Salem had two tackles and Jadon Catley added two tackles.
MS Cross Country Competes at Jesse Owens Invitational
HTMS Cross Country traveled to Moulton over the weekend to compete at the Jesse Owens Invitational. The HT Girls placed 2nd out of 21 teams in their division. Kylee Sisk finished 10th overall, Avery Cahoon placed 12th, Kinley Harris placed 13th, Ellen Thomas finished 23rd and Ellie Christian finished 30th.
In the Boys division, the Huskies placed 7th out of 30 teams. Almost 450 Boys ran in the race. Lake Williams was the top finisher for the Huskies as he placed 11th. Oscar Spears placed 45th, Aran Cane finished 46th, Brooks Maddox finished 48th and Jacob Mullinax finished 50th.
MS Football Hosts Irondale
Hewitt-Trussville Middle School Football will host Irondale on Thursday. The games will be played at Hewitt-Trussville Stadium. The 7th Grade game will begin at 5pm and the 8th Grade game will begin at approximately 6:45pm. This is the final home game of the year for the Huskies.

The Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) requires all student-athletes to complete eligibility paperwork each year. For the second year, this process will be done online rather than in paper copy. Any student, wishing to participate in athletics, that will be in grades 7-12 for the 2019-2020 school year will be required to complete this process. Please follow the instructions below to complete these forms for the 2019-2020 school year. Students’ forms for 2019-2020 need to be 100% complete as soon as possible. This is for AHSAA sanctioned sports only.
