64 about-to-be-PHYSICIANS learn where they will begin their careers in training

64 members of the MD Class of 2016 are eligible for the Match this year, 40 women and 24 men. They were the first MD class to go all-digital, when our curriculum converted from computers to iPad. About 90% of our students are from Hawai'i Nei.

What is the Match? A nation-wide system of pairing MD students with the MD training institutions (including here in Hawai'i) where they most want to go, and where the institutions most want them to be. A computer (a PC, we presume) does the Match, and it all happens simultaneously around the country. For Hawai'i, it's a caffeinated affair, with the Match happening around 6:30 a.m. The ceremony begins in the Medical Education Building Auditorium at 6 a.m.
