Class Trip to Camp Creek Run
The Camp Creek Run permission slips are due this week! Please return them to class, so that I can plan for our groups and chaperones. Thank you!
Book Fair
The Book Fair will be open from the 6th-8th. Our class will be shopping in the afternoon on Wednesday the 7th. Students can bring in money to shop and shop with their family after school too!
*Here's a tip: If you have time, shop as a family after school and leave one or 2 items for the class shopping time. The class shopping trip can be overwhelming and although it builds independence and is a great experience young shoppers can feel stressed if they have too many choices!
Literacy
This week, we will continue to explore the theme Neighborhoods. Through our reading we will visit neighborhoods both imaginary and real, filled with friends to meet. We will continue to explore the books by Cynthia Rylant, realistic fiction selections about a boy named Henry and his dog Mudge. We will think about and discuss the question “Why is the order of events in a story important?” We will also learn to make inferences while we read by thinking "The text says___________, so I think ______." We will also read a selection that connects to science called All in the Family and learn to read for factual information.
