The Week Ahead
Week of June 1st
Dear Greenlodge Friends,
I hope that you all had a chance to read the letter from the Dedham leadership team, regarding the unjust killings of black men and women in our country. It is horrifying to see the inequities that continue to ravage the black community. Ashley Dube shared an excellent resource from NASP (National Assoc. of School Psychologists) about understanding race, privilege, and social injustice. https://www.nasponline.org/resources-and-publications/resources-and-podcasts/diversity/social-justice/understanding-race-and-privilege. I wanted to pass it along in case it is helpful to deepening your understanding of these recent events and associated topics. Although I did not take part in any of the peaceful gatherings in both Boston and Dedham this weekend, I felt hopeful, that in our corner of the country people are outraged by these injustices, yet understand that relatiating with violence is not the answer.
I hope that you found time to enjoy the beautiful, warm weather this weekend. Let's get ready for another week of remote teaching and learning. We are nearing the home stretch (3 weeks to go!) and need to keep up the momentum we've got going.
Have a wonderful week!
~Ashley
