Family Reunification Annex Creation
Emergency Operations Planning (EOP) Workshop for Schools
Appalachia Intermediate Unit 8 is pleased to partner with Rain Public Planning and One Star to provide this school safety learning opportunity.
Participants will learn the concepts and practices needed to create an EOP Functional Family Reunification Annex for their School or District. Participants will be provided with the national best practice model school EOP Reunification Annex template and extensive planning aids. Working together in school teams, participants will learn while drafting a Reunification Annex under the guidance of public safety planning professionals, Garret Rain, Rain Public Planning, and Gene Komondor, One Star.
This professional learning opportunity will include the following topic areas:
- Reunification defined
- Risks requiring reunification
- Reunification site requirements
- Two-gate process of reunification
- Site consideration critique techniques
- Roles and responsibilities in reunification
- Nuts and bolts of reunification processing
- Itemized resources needed in reunification
- Reunification command and communications
- Media management in reunification
REQUIRED FOR THE TRAINING:
- School teams of 2 or more members (Local Law Enforcement, Fire, and EMS welcome)
- Laptop computer (s) capable of editing Word DOCX documents
- Current copy of your school's safety plan, reunification plan, and like guides
