Dear Graham Families,
We have officially ended our first full week of expanded in-person learning! Our students have truly gotten into the rhythm of school, and it's been a pleasure to see them interacting with one another both in person and with their peers on screen.
In addition to our expanded in-person learning, we also successfully administered the Illinois Science Assessment (ISA) for our 5th grade students this week, and have greatly appreciated the cooperation of our students, staff, and families in getting it done.
I'd like to also thank our parents, who in response to growing reminders around the self-certification process, stepped up and made sure to certify by 8:00am everyday. While tedious, we greatly appreciate when this is done, as it lessens the lift our staff have when ensuring students are safe to enter the building every school day.
Finally, as we move fully into spring (a mild snowstorm, aside) and the end of the school year, I'm reminded of how grateful I am to once again hear the yells of joy from students playing at recess, and the eager and bright young voices filling our classrooms as I walk by.
Thank you for trusting your students to Graham Elementary, and I look forward to continuing a strong school year.
Sincerely,
Ms. Walton
Online Registration Starts May 3
Online registration for new and returning students for the upcoming school year will begin on May 3, 2021. Parents and guardians will use ParentVue’s online registration portal.
Complete registration information, including an FAQ, is available online.
School Attendance Policy With Presenting Symptoms
When it comes to answering Question #2 of the Self Certification Survey, you are confirming that no one in the household has been exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID-19, has a test result pending, or is demonstrating symptoms of a COVID-19-like illness.
Therefor, if you answer yes to question #2 for your student, or any person in your household, that student and any siblings in the school district are required to be kept home until it has been confirmed that the symptoms are Non-COVID related.
Student Towels For Lunch
This makes the ground much more comfortable for our students to sit on, and allows us to utilize spaces where we can maintain social distancing.
LUNCH AND FORGOTTEN ITEM DROP-OFF
For example, if dropping off a water bottle for a student in 2K, please write "Freddy Falcon | 2K" somewhere on the item or an attached piece of paper.
Extended School Day Information Slide Deck
Please refer to the In Person Learning Plan shared last week for any questions you have around our return to expanded school days. Clicking on the hyperlink above, or the image to the left will take you directly to slides housing information that will help families to get a better sense of what the rest of the school year will look like. Please keep this deck bookmarked somewhere on your devices, as it will be an ongoing resource for any and all questions you might have.

Teacher Appreciation Week
The PTA is beginning preparations for this year’s Teacher Appreciation Week! This year’s “I Survived 2020-21” theme will help celebrate our amazing teachers who were able to do everything and roll with our ever changing year with a great week May 3-7th. We will need your help to make it a success! PLEASE consider donating some treats for the teachers listed on the sign up genius below to make their week special. These will be for the Breakfast Day, Sweet Treats Day, and Snack Day. This is always such a special event for the PTA to put on, and we thank you for your support!
