Leader of the Week: Arsh Yadav
Each week one learner in every class will be selected by the designer to be the "LEEder of the Week." Students will be selected by who showed the "Leadership Quality of the Week" best that week.
Our Leadership Quality of the week is "Justice"
CHARACTER TRAIT OF THE WEEK
LEEdership Quality of the Week:
being fair, right and upholding what is right
A lesson in Leadership:
Never cut line. If someone cuts in front of you, do not say or do anything about it. Let it happen, but let a teacher know about it. They will handle the situation.
Lee Quote of the Week:
“In matters of style, swim with the current. In matters of principle, stand like a rock.” -Thomas Jefferson
WHAT WE ARE LEARNING
READING & WRITING
Reading this week, we will continue our poetry unit. Learners are learning ways how to analyze poems. We also will continue our new read-aloud book, Prairie Lotus by Linda Sue Park. This is the 2020 Global Read Aloud Book.
Math
In Math, learners continue our unit on operations with fractions. Learners explored different web sites to work interactively with fractions. They practiced representing different problems that included multiplication and division of fractions.
SCIENCE
In Science, learners are exploring all the different kinds of energy and their uses. This week we began an ADI investigation on Potential and Kinetic Energy.
SOCIAL STUDIES
In Social Studies this week, we learned about the checks and balances of the U.S. Government.
Important Information
Student Zoom Sign In Update: Please make sure that learners log into ZOOM with their g.coppellisd.com accounts starting on Monday, August 31st. If you would like more information, please view this website.
Schoology: As we continue with virtual learning, Schoology is a very important tool during this time. We know some of our learners are using the app, but it is best for them to use the web-based version: https://schoology.coppellisd.com/
Learners need to make sure they are completing and submitting all of their work for each course since that is how we are taking attendance. In addition, although online learning is taking place at home, learners should be starting and finishing their work on their own as they would in-person at school.
Lee Specials Quarterly Newsletter: Our specials team puts out a newsletter each week. Check it out!
Box Tops: Did you know you can SCAN Box Tops and earn money for our school with items you already purchase for your home? Learn more about this quick and easy way to help our school.
