Robison Elementary Rocket Register
April 2018
Welcome to Our New Assistant Principal, Mrs. McCollister
We are excited to welcome Mrs. McCollister to Robison as our new assistant principal! Mrs. McCollister has served as a counselor at Adam Elementary for the past seven years. She currently serves as the SOS (Special Opportunity School) counselor at Adam. She also has experience teaching first, second, third, and fourth grades at a few CFISD elementary schools--Sheridan, Birkes, and Adam. While at Birkes Elementary, Mrs. McCollister was selected as their Teacher of the Year. She is a product of CFISD, having graduated from Cypress Creek High School. She obtained her bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University, and her master's from Sam Houston State University. Please join me in welcoming Mrs. McCollister to the Robison community. She will be serving as the assistant principal for our first, third, and fifth-grade students.
1st Annual Daddy~Daughter Dance
The theme is "Denim and Diamonds" so feel free to dress up your denim or even go a little more formal if you choose. There will be precious backdrops for pictures, a DJ for dancing, and refreshments. We are having the event at Spillane Middle School in order to accommodate more guests; however, space is limited. Please purchase your tickets early in order to ensure a spot!
Dads might want to give their daughters a corsage, but we are leaving that completely optional and up to you! We are not selling corsages for this event.
A volunteer sign-up will be sent soon for anyone wishing to help with set-up, serving guests, or clean up.
Library Celebration News!
KAJEETS are here! These are (Free)Wi-Fi hotspots and computers LOANED to students for academic purposes. Students may check these out in the afternoon so they can bring them home in the evening (overnight). These Chromebooks were purchased with district library money, so during the day they remain in the library for student use. In order for this to run smoothly, the students need to reserve the Kajeet/Chromebooks for their students through a sign-out sheet located at the library. In the afternoon, the Chromebooks will be delivered. They must be returned first thing in the morning. There is a required parent and student agreement to be filled out and kept on file for this school year. Please feel free to contact Ms. Wolfe with any questions at 281-213-1712 or emerson.wolfe@cfisd.net.

Kindergarten & Pre-K Registration for 2018-2019
We are so excited to have pre-registration for Pre-K and Kindergarten on April 18, 2018, 9:00 – 3:00. To be eligible for Pre-K your child has to qualify either financially, English is the second language, a military connection, if a parent or guardian has ever received the Texas Star Award or if the student is in foster care. Your child will also have to be 4 by September 1, 2018, to be eligible for Pre-K. For Kindergarten, your child will have to be 5 by September 1, 2018.
The list of required documents is shown below. CFISD has made a change in the proof of residency documents required for registration. Only a parent or guardian is able to register a student. If you have any legal documentation such as judge signed placement paperwork or divorce decree please bring that as well and we will be happy to make a copy for your child’s records.
We ask for your help in spreading the word about registration. We also ask that if you have a child who will be attending kindergarten to please register your child in April rather than waiting until August. This allows us to hire the correct amount of staff and hopefully avoid starting the year understaffed. Thank you so much!
If you have any questions please call Angela Johnson, our Registrar, at 281-213-1702. If you cannot make it April 18th don’t worry you can make an appointment with Mrs. Johnson. We look forward to seeing all or our new Robison Rockets.
Field Day
We hope you are able to come cheer on your student(s) at Field Day! If your child purchased a t-shirt, they will bring their shirt home April 16, 17, or 18.
