ASCA believes that certain provisions should be included in the final bipartisan conference report such as the authorization of the Elementary and Secondary School Counseling Program (ESSCP), a program that would provide dedicated funding for school districts to hire school counselors, school psychologists and/or school social workers. The House, The Student Success Act (HR 5) fails to contain any of these important provisions. The committee will meet soon to negotiate the differences in the versions.

ASCA and NCSCA needs you to contact each of your elected officials in the U.S House and Senate and urge them to sign the Dear Colleague Letter that Re. Clark (MA) and Sens. Ayotte (NH) and Franken (MN) are circulating. This letter ask Congress to include the important provisions in the final version of the bill.
