Author Visit and Family Reading Night

What an exciting day we spent with Aaron Reynolds! The kids had a great time at the assemblies and parents had nothing but positive things to say about the evening event. I would like to thank the staff members that participated in Reader's Theater: Scott, Lynda, Sarita, Lauren, Maribeth, Katie, Cathy and Debbie. The kids were amazed at the talent that each of you brought to the stage!

I would like to thank all of the staff members that played an integral part in making this evening come alive. And a special thanks to Jill Williams for the hard work that went into planning for Aaron's visit, organizing the book order and keeping Aaron company the entire time he was visiting!

Science Update

Message from Faith:

Cindy Reuter will be visiting buildings the week of May 23rd to box up current science texts, and teacher editions. Please continue to send back your science kit materials and DVDs to Cindy Reuter at the Textbook Center as soon as possible, so that the inventory process can begin. You will receive your new TCi textbooks at the start of the school year along with new kit materials to accompany TCi lessons.

Otto and I will be coming around to pick up your current science text books the week of May 16th. Please have them on top of a table or bookshelf for easy access.

Classroom Placement Day: UPDATE

The date for classroom placements has been changed to Monday, May 23rd. We will have guest teachers so each team can meet in the conference room throughout the day. Please remember to submit the names of two students that you would like to request for next year. If there is an issue with any of the requests, I will contact you and ask for an alternate name. A schedule will be given as we get closer to this day.

Leveled Library

Please return all books to the leveled library by May 20th. If you are planning to use books past that date, please let the Reading Room know.

Student Expectations

As we make our way down the final stretch of the school year, continue doing a great job of holding students to high expectations as we close out the school year. We had a great week of recess and I can only attribute that to your efforts in the classroom. Continue to make learning fun in the classroom and your students will continue to give their best efforts up to the end!

Lunch Reminder for Field Trips

Please remember to let Cynthia in the lunchroom know of any days that your grade level, or classroom, will not be eating in the cafeteria. This helps her with numbers as she places food orders for upcoming weeks. There are quite a few field trips and grade level picnics that are planned so please share those dates with her. We don't want to see any food go to waste that isn't consumed on a given day.
